I love looking at pretty wedding things, a fact that often surprises people. You see, I didn't have a wedding. My husband and I decided to get married and 10 days later ran off to City Hall without telling anyone. Surprise! If we'd had a wedding, we would have had to DIY a lot of things. Linda, who blogs at Mason Jar Crafts Love, created the mason jar vases above. So pretty! I never would have thought of using succulents in floral arrangements and I was skeptical when I heard about this trend. That skepticism quickly went away when I saw pictures. I love them. A lot. She Knows and Apartment Therapy both have good tutorials on how to make succulent bridal bouquets. Creative Jewish Mom has tips for making your own succulent centerpieces. Needles and Leaves even has a tutorial on how to make a succulent crown.

Peonies

I love peonies. They are big and bold and I like that both in flowers and in weddings. Peonies are also a fabulous flower to make out of crepe paper. Craftberry Bush's crepe peony tutorial is straightforward and has good photos. And of course, Martha Stewart has a tutorial and provides templates for how to make crepe flowers. If you've ever made a Martha craft you know they can occasionally be a bit frustrating. Mrs. Unicycle used Martha's flower tutorial and shares her tips.
