Where did the time go? You've been rushing around dealing with (big breath now) Thanksgiving, Chanukkah, Christmas shopping, and family gathering—and hello, New Year's Eve is almost here? Need outfit inspiration on what to wear to watch the ball drop? Take a look at these four fab outfits (if I do say so myself). There's an on-trend ensemble for tall, curvy, petite, and average gals.

TALL

Tall women can wear just about anything (lucky dawgs). Throw them a peplum, a full skirt, some diagonal stripes … they can rock it all. The only thing to be aware of if you're tall is gigantic, all-over prints or florals. Then again, those don't really look good on anyone.

Nha Khanh Haven wrap-waist faille dress in red ($650, saksfifthavenue.com), Nina Coastal evening pumps in bronze ($99, macys.com), Natasha Couture Penny the Penguin crystal clutch ($298, nordstrom.com), Vert D'Eau dangling link clip earrings ($295, alexisbittar.com), Phoenix Starling ring ($192.50, alexisbittar.com), Sweep—The Photogenic Palette ($29.99, julep.com).

CURVY

The trick to mixing patterns is to find ones whose colors match, as it makes it easy to layer them together. Another trick is to treat a brocade print as if it were a solid color. A good example is this stylish, ready-to-dance-in black and gold brocade-print dress from City Chic. When paired with the leopard-print pumps from Da Viccino, the look is complementary, not jarring.

Lux Rose dress ($149.95, citychiconline.com), The Bowser earrings ($122.50, eleanorkalle.com), Moschino mini satin clutch ($150, forzieri.com) Nina Angelica bracelet ($62.99, 6pm.com), Da Viccino leopard pumps ($41.95, shoebuy.com), Lip and Cheek Doll in red ($16, thebodyshop.com)

PETITE

An important fashion rule (and as much as I hate fashion rules, there's always one or two you do need to remember when you're a petite), is that wearing black shoes and hose automatically makes you appear taller, as it shows off your leg. Another smart rule is to create an outfit with one predominant color—monochrome will make you seem taller, too. In this combination, the sequined tee is not only lined in black, but the navy is very dark. Once tucked into the black skirt and paired with black shoes, you'll appear taller and oh, so chic.

All over sequin tee ($81, warehouse.andotherbrands.com), Shadow skirt ($49, tamarcollection.com), layer these bracelets to create an arm party: Gold horizontal twist bracelet ($17, zoetik.com), Gold disc rope bracelet—dark blue ($17, zoetik.com), gold interlink stacking bracelet—white ($17, zoetik.com), Diamond drop earrings ($19.99, mintandlolly.com), Sasha cheetah clutch ($76, macys.com), Lulu Townsend Nisha platform pump ($39.95, dsw.com), Glazed Apple sparkler-for subtle all over sparkle ($24, thebodyshop.com).

AVERAGE

This year, go ahead and rock the sequined pant trend. You can easily pull off cropped-length pants. When creating this outfit, I kept thinking what Audrey Hepburn's gamine movie persona would wear on New Year's Eve, and came up with this look.

Bronze sequin cropped pants ($49.99, shoptiques.com), long-sleeve fitted scoop-neck tee shirt ($25.50, landsend.com), Repetto Adore ballerinas ($239.87, farfetch.com), Furla Candy Bon Bon mini bag ($248, bloomingdales.com), Bridie earrings ($13.60, joulesusa.com), Dolce & Gabbana The Shine Collector's Edition Shade: Real Red ($37, saksfifthavenue.com), Gold collar choker necklace ($5, icing.com), Crystal poinsettia hairclip ($10, icing.com).
