Today is Groundhog Day and Indiana has it’s own resident groundhog. Dandy is a resident of the Wildcat Creek Wildlife Center in Carroll county (northeast of Delphi). It is a State and Federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation center. Her name is Dandy, because dandelions are a groundhog’s favorite food. She was born in the summer of 2012. Here are some pictures of Dandy at her home at the Wildcat Creek Wildlife Center.
Dandy is hibernating today so she left the forecasting up to Punxsutawney Phil.Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, forecasting 6 more weeks of winter.
