Oppressive heat and humidity continue this evening with heat indices in the 100 to 110 range until sunset… even some spots registering 115 to 118!
You’ll continue to need to limit outdoor exposure and/or hydrate constantly to protect yourself from dangerous conditions.
After a muggy Monday, hot but less humid conditions arrive Tuesday… though highs daily near 90 degrees until more widespread rain and storm coverage arrives late week into the weekend.
We continue to monitor storms around Chicagoland as these should gradually drift southeastward to impact northwest Indiana by 8pm.
Some of these may produce severe wind gusts and definitely deliver torrential rain/frequent lightning. It’s uncertain how far south they’ll travel tonight, but we continue to heavy storms in play for the Indy metro and points south. But it should be noted that north and northwest of Indy will have the greatest chance of storms.
