What makes good food truly special? The people and passions that go into making them! Every time I meet a new food entrepreneur I can’t wait to ask them how they started, what inspired them and about their company’s mission. It gives me a whole new perspective and appreciation for their food. With big corporations stubbornly running the roost, it’s MY MISSION to support and empower the people working so hard to change the way we eat. There’s also a very special place in my heart for family owned businesses and their history – probably because I’ve always wished I had grown up in one! (Note to my future children: I’m working on it!)

Grey Ghost Bakery, the newest member of Undiscovered Kitchen, is a family owned baking company based in Charleston, using legendary recipes rooted in Lowcountry lore and passed down from generation to generation using the highest quality, all-natural ingredients! All of their cookies are made-from-scratch and hand-formed in a range of addictive flavors!

WHY GREY GHOST BAKERY ROCKS!

Inspired by her lazy summer days spent baking and sharing ghost tales with friends and family on the porch of her Pawleys Island beach house, Katherine Frankstone, founder of Grey Ghost Bakery, named the company after the beloved ghost of the Carolina Lowcountry. Legend has it that the Grey Ghost of Pawleys Island, SC (a friendly spirit) appears to alert residents of impending storms and protects those who heed his warning.
