Fashion and music lovers alike were glued to their TV screens, watching the 2015 Grammy Awards with bated breaths. While some of us ooohed and aahed at the beautifully dressed celebs on the red carpet, Sam Smith’s fans wiped tears of joy when he won a handful of awards. You go boy!
As always, there was a generous sprinkling of glamour, and quite a few horror stories, including Kanye West’s almost-Kanye moment. Let’s check out some of the dresses that caught our eye:
The Show-Stealers

Doesn’t Rihanna’s dress remind you of delicious cupcakes and yummy cotton candy? It was not love at first sight for us, but the more we see it, the more we like her poufy pink gown 
She was easily the best dressed celeb at the awards. Taylor Swift could have gotten that title (Kidding! It would still be RiRi), had she not worn those hideous heels. The colour complements her ombre gown, but they’re too casual for the occasion. Gwen is a rockstar in that black corseted jumpsuit. Katy Perry rocked the season’s latest trend: fringe; her silver dress was drenched with sparkly beaded fringing. And she’s back to sporting coloured hair. You like?
All that glitters

We love Rita, but this disco ball outfit is not cool. People have been raving about Kim’s glittery John Paul Gaultier gown, but we’re not sure we like this bath robe-kind deal. Perfect makeup as always! We’re glad to see Lady Gaga dressed like a regular human for a change, although we wish she weren’t showing so much skin.
Androgyny at its best (and worst)

Anna rocks her pant suit so well, we’re taking notes Surprisingly, the lack of shirt doesn’t make it vulgar, instead makes it more sophisticated. Danielle looked chic in white (in love with her suit jacket), while her sisters looked the same in black. Quite the monochrome group. Coming to Charlie…her bow tie is adorable, but the fur boa is both glam and unnecessary. Plus those peep toe heels are very wrong.
Playing peekaboo in black with necklines up to THERE!

Talk about plunging necklines on both Beyonce and Nicki! The latter is wearing a fringed gown, and the former is looking even bigger than usual in a lacy peekaboo number. It’s amazing how Beyonce went from looking like this, to an ethereal beauty on stage. Jessie and Meghan also got on to the sheer bandwagon, albeit with more modest necklines.
Cut-outs for instant glam
L-R: Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, Chrissy Teigen
Miley and Iggy also showed off some cleavage, along with strategically placed cutouts. Umm what’s with that strange hairdo Iggy? The best of the lot was Chrissy, who looked terrific in a classy white gown with cutout detailing. We wonder who’s luckier, Chrissy or John Legend?
One horror after another
L-R: Madonna, Pharrell and Helen, Ariana Grande
Pharrell, not every time please. Ariana, looks like she’s wearing some kind of chainmail. And then there was Madonna. First she shows up in some weird matador-inspired corseted outfit, then she moons the crowd. More appalling than appealing, really.
No wonder Sia had her eyes covered.
