With it being August (already!), hopefully you have one more summer getaway before Fall rolls around. So this week, the TW Stylists came up with some unique looks that are perfect for when you are heading out to get some tennis in — while on vacation. Or if you don’t have time for a trip away, these would make some great country club outfits as well.

Karly’s Look

Picking out the perfect outfit to wear at a resort or country club isn’t always the easiest task. You have to make sure you’re on top of your fashion A-game when you show up to play. And that’s why we’re here to help! For my outfit, I chose the Lija Tranquil Infinity Tank and the Nike Fall Slam Skirt. My favorite thing about the Lija top is the unique neckline. It’s gathered, wrap-style neck makes it a stylish top you can wear causally on or off the court. Even though it may not look like your typical sporty, athletic top, it’s moisture wicking fabric keeps you dry and playing at your best. Then we have the Nike Slam Skirt, which goes well with any top. And I mean any top!  It’s an essential piece to have in your wardrobe so you can mix ‘n’ match to create a cute outfit.

Now for the shoe I had to choose one that was designed by none other than Stella McCartney herself. Not only is the adidas Barricade 8 one of the best looking shoes out there, but it also performs amazingly well. Coming in as one of the lightest shoes on the market today, it’s one of the toughest shoes as well. The chic 8 continues to live up to the Barricade name with its exceptional durability and stability. Not to mention it also comes with a sole warranty in case you happen to wear through the sole within the first six months.

Last but not least to tie this classic tennis outfit together, we have the Lacoste Women’s Headband in white (also available in two other colors). I love how you can wear this piece on or off the court. It’s the perfect accessory to add style to your outfit, while also holding your hair back from it falling into your eyes. Doesn’t get much better when fashion meets function.

Michelle’s Look

For my look, I was imagining what I would take/wear on the court for a getaway to Hawaii or Cabo (two of my favorite places to visit) and was inspired by the bright colors and flavors of the tropical areas — so my look is bright but simple. I started by picking two of my personal favorite pieces. The EleVen Flutter skort is one of my favorite skorts right now. The material is super soft and comfortable, not to mention the ruffles make this skort flirty and fun, and I love the fit. It isn’t too tight and isn’t too short. I picked the new fall pink colorway for this look because it is the perfect color for summer. Also, it’s worth noting that EleVen offers this skort in 2 different lengths! Next, I wanted to pair this sassy skort with something simple, but colorful as well, so I took a look at what is new from Tonic right now and found this great Tonic Fall Shock Wave Tank in “flamingo.”

Tonic has done a great job on building on its successful pieces. I love Tonic’s tanks because of the great material they are made of (soft, thick, moisture wicking, comfortable) and because they are on the longer side. I constantly find myself wearing my Tonic tanks even when I am not playing tennis and just trying to catch some rays in the summer sun, and I think this tank is no exception — perfect for on court or off. When it came to shoes, I wanted something that matched my outfit, but also can be comfortable and worn in the gym too (in case I want to bypass a day of tennis and hit the trails or the gym). I went with one of my favorite shoes right now, the Lotto Raptor IVs. These shoes are comfortable, durable and cute — you can’t go wrong! The style is simple with a pop of color and 3 lace color options. To finish off this look, of course, I needed a bag. I usually only carry purse-like bags on the court (in the last tournament I played, I took the court with my large Betsy Johnson purse) because racquet bags just don’t do it for me anymore! So naturally, I found this fun tote from Fila to be ideal! I can use this as a beach bag, travel bag, pool bag, oversized purse or a tennis bag — so for me, it is perfect, not to mention it is fun and flashy!

Brittany’s Look

When I think of the country club/resort look, I think of classic colors and fits blending with high fashion and style. I was inspired to try to blend some old and new styles to create a timeless look. Lacoste is the epitome of classic yet fashionable design, so I chose the Lacoste Spring Pique Tennis Dress in navy and white stripes. This dress is not only super cute on the court, but it can also be worn off the court afterward. The small details are really what make this dress. I love the subtle hints of pink at the waistline and arms to add just a touch of femininity. Additionally, the ruching on the back as well as the flounce skirt add to the overall style.

For the feet, I chose the adidas Stella Barricade 8s in the navy colorway.  I personally think this is one of the most stylish shoes on the market today. The sleek look combined with high performance features is the perfect complement to the tennis dress. In fact, we just reviewed the shoe so you should check it out on our website. Highlights from the playtest include a light weight and high durability.

Lastly to pull this look together, I picked the Nike Racer Sunglasses in yellow and white. I love the fun pop of color that the yellow adds to the outfit. Not only are these sunglass super stylish off the court, but they also are specifically made for athletes and include features like Nike Max Lens technology, soft rubber nose pads, and 100% UVA/UVB protection. No matter where you are vacationing this summer, this look is sure to make a splash.

Be sure to tell us where you are going on your next destination tennis getaway and share your stories and pictures of you in your resort tennis wear!

Play with heart,

Michelle
