It’s everyone’s favorite beaded holiday, but maybe you are sitting it out this year. Bummed? We know, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a little Mardi Gras inspiration at the office, right? We decided to add a little bit of Louisiana spice to our desk and the results were super fun. It’s all about taking the things we already have and giving it new life and perspective! So, dig into that old catch-all drawer and get ready to celebrate New Orleans style. (No flashing necessary!) Here’s how to recreate this look with some basic office supplies and a little creativity.
The Color Palette- Traditional Mardi Gras colors are strong and regal. Purple for justice, green for faith and gold for power. We love these Lion Poly Folders in just the right colors.
The Details- Most small office supplies such as push pins and paper clips come in assorted colors. To keep the look consistent, we sorted out purple, green and gold/ yellow and put the rest in storage. You can even do this with pens, pencils and markers too!
Desk accessories like this Datexx calculator and Paper Pro mini stapler were unexpected finds that worked perfectly with the theme. Even our purple Purell travel gel and Scotch tape dispenser fit in perfectly.
Decorating- All it takes is a little digging to find some fun things to make you desk shine. Add some Mardi Gras beads, poker chips, playing cars, or any other color palette friendly decorations to add a little pizzazz to your space. You can even cut out decorations using construction paper too!
