Support your local community during this summer food drive with Shea Homes
Did you know that about half of the total U.S. food bank donations come during the holiday season alone? This often means that supplies are low throughout the rest of the year—especially during the summer months, when kids who normally rely on school lunches are at home during the day, and organized philanthropic efforts typically go on hiatus due to the heavy traveling season.
At Shea, we believe that to Live the Difference® also means to make a difference, both inside and outside of the home. That’s why we’re launching the Shea Homes Summer Food Drive, and invite you to join us so we can make a difference in your community! Between June 6 and July 3, you can help out your local food bank by bringing non-perishable food items to any participating Shea community, and show your support during a time of need. For every donation, we’ll donate $1 per pound of food received.
Additionally, so that we can all provide an even bigger impact on our local communities, we’re offering ways to get your family and friends involved online – just follow the steps below:
Pick up a few needed non-perishable items (check out the shopping list below for ideas)
Visit a participating Shea or Trilogy location in your area to drop off your donation
Snap a photo of yourself dropping off your items
Upload your photo to Twitter or Instagram using #DonateWithShea
For every valid post we receive, Shea will donate $5 to a local food bank, showing that when we serve the community together, we Live the Difference together as well.
Additionally, click on the image below to tweet out our message (now until July 3rd, 2016) and we’ll donate $1 for every time a new user shares!
