The Consulting Group at SavATree is proud to be a Sponsor of GreenTown Chicago.

GreenTown brings together the public sector and the private sector to connect the dots, to inspire and to work together to remake our communities.

The Forests Where We Live Tour had SavATree Consulting Arborist Andy Lueck share his expertise in tree management planning.

Also sharing their expertise on the tour were Edith Makra, Director of Environmental Initiatives, Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and John Lough, Senior City Forester from the City of Chicago.

Here John tells participants about street tree management (it’s tough to be a tree in the City, but Chicago is working on increasing per-tree canopy and city-wide canopy through planning and design).

Edith stands in front of a tree in a concrete planter, essentially making it a full-size bonsai due to restricted root space.

As tree people know, it wouldn’t be a real tour if it didn’t end in a tree planting. John and Andy brought it home by planting this bur oak with help from attendees.

Off to a session for more on building healthy, sustainable communities. Thanks again to GreenTown Chicago for letting the Consulting Group at SavATree be part of a great event.
