This week’s club culture spotlight shines its light on Grammy nominated DJ/writer/producer William Grigahcine, better known as DJ Snake.

In 2012, Grigahcine’s career took off BIG time with the Album of the Year Grammy-nomination for co-producing “Government Hooker” off of Lady Gaga‘s full length “Born This Way”. The following year, he presentred his debut single “Bird Machine” featuring fellow French, artist Alesia, which was signed by Diplo’s record label, Mad Decent, and released in late February. And in July, William was invited by Diplo to do a live mix on “Diplo & Friends”, which airs on BBC Radio 1.



In December of last year, DJ Snake released his MASSIVE hit single “Turn Down For What” featuring Lil Jon on Columbia Records. The song went #1* on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play , Top 5 on the Hot 100 chart and was featured in a commercial for the Sol Republic DECK. Selling a million copies, the song was certified Platinum in March and the music video was nominated for for Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, and the MTV Clubland Award during this year’s MTV Video Music Awards

Most recently DJ Snake released “Get Low’, his collaboration with world renowned DJ/producer Dillon Francis in February 2014. The song premiered on DJ Snake’s official Youtube page on February 10, 2014 and in April he was names “Artist To Watch” by FoxWeekly.

DJ Snake and Dillon Francis were chosen as the alternating supporting acts for Skrillex’s Mothership Tour this year and you can check out a sample of the super-talented Frenchman’s work below
