“Thrilla in Manila” Collectors Set
The “Thrilla in Manila” limited edition pens were released in 2010 to mark the 35th anniversary of the famous boxing match it was named after. Considered by many the greatest fight with the biggest rivals in sports history, Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier are both timeless figures in boxing and sports in general. Montegrappa has paid tribute to them with pairs of pens, a fountain pen etched with Ali’s image and a roller ball pen with Frazier’s. The pens are made with red and black celluloid and sterling silver. These sterling silver sets come with a themed box and are limited to 350 editions.
Paulo Coelho Limited Edition Pens
Paulo Coelho is one of the most acclaimed and loved authors alive today, making him the perfect subject for an pen as fine as Montegrappa. The pens are made with a fret-working technique out of black mother-of-pearl resin and sterling silver. The design used is a map, which follows the journey taken in his book “The Pilgrimage”, with black lacquer marking the route. We have both fountain and rollerball pens from this collection, which is limited to 1947 pieces, the year Coelho was born.
Piccola Gemma Limited Edition Pens
The Gemma Pen is a homage to feminine traits, such as sensuality, beauty and harmony. It’s made with 18-karat yellow gold and a sparkling royal purple resin. A purple sapphire is also mounted on the pen clip. We have fountain, rollerball and ballpoint versions available.
St. Andrew’s Links Limited Edition Pens
This penis their second tribute to St. Andrews Links, the world’s oldest and most famed golf course, which has been a landmark in Scotland since around 1400 AD. The pen is made with black resin and sterling silver, with an engraving of the St. Andrews Links’ logo on the barrel and a golf ball cabochon on the cap. The sterling silver editions are limited to 600 pieces, to celebrate the 600 years of golf played at St. Andrews Links.
Modigliani Limited Edition Pen
Our last pen we’d like to share with you is dedicated to famed Italian artist Amedeo modigliani. Known for his paintings and sculptures, he only lived for 35 years before passing away in 1920, but still left a big impression on the art world. The pen comes in sterling silver and a deep blue colored resin inspired by the Parisian nights often depicted in his works. The lines of the cap and clip also take cues from his paintings and sculptures. A single gem is also found on the cap.
