With the Academy Awards held on Sunday, everyone is checking out all the celebs style choices along with the Oscar winners from the evening. A formal event like this is a perfect reason to bust out a classy watch, with almost every male celebrity wearing one with their tuxedo and plenty of female celebs wearing one to compliment their designer jewelry. I’ve rounded up a some big names from the night and what they had strapped to their wrist.

Leonardo DiCaprio – Tag Heuer Carrera 1887 Chronograph

Leo DiCaprio went home home empty handed that night, but the Tag Heuer ambassador had something nice on his wrist. He chose the popular Carrera 1887 Chronograph, but dressed up appropriately for the evening, with a more minimalist black chrono dial, black leather straps, polished steel case and gold dial accents.

Bradley Cooper – Chopard L.U.C. 1937 Classic

Bradley Cooper went for a simple choice with Chopard’s L.U.C. 1937 Classic. It uses a round stainless steel case with black alligator leather strap. The dial goes for a vintage look with a white porcelain dial, black roman numerals and small date display.

Matthew McConaughey – Chopard L.U.C. XP Tonneau

Best Actor winner Matthew McConaughey also went with a elegant piece from Chopard. This L.U.C. XP Tonneau comes in a luxurious white gold tonneau case measuring 40mm x 37mm across and only 7.22mm thick. The silvered dial is decorated with an sunburst satin-brushed motif and includes a small-seconds subdial and date display. It’s fitted to a black alligator strap.

Kevin Spacey – IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chrono “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” Limited Edition

Kevin Spacey opted for a larger, more sporty timepiece than most actors at this formal event, with a 45mm steel case and black rubber strap. Still on the classier side of sports chronographs, This Portuguese Yacht Club Chrono looked great matching his suit with the distinct Laureus blue dial. Also this limited edition was made to support the Laureus Sport of Good Foundation, so wearing it gets extra press for a good cause.

Jared Leto – Piaget Altiplano 40mm Ultra Thin

Best Supporting Actor winner Jared Leto picked a clean but high-end choice with a Piaget Altiplano 40mm in white gold with black alligator strap. This watch was formally the world’s thinnest mechanical watch, only to be surpassed by Piaget themselves this year.

Pharrell Williams – Richard Mille RM016 TITALYT

Pharrell Williams performed his Oscar-nominated hit “Happy” at the Academy Awards with a high-end Richard mille RM016 TITALYT on his wrist. The RM016 is noted for departing from the Richard Mille tonneau sports watch style, for a more slim and square package, measuring 38mm by 50mm and 8.25mm thick. An intricate skeletal movement is revealed through the dial with titanium, black PVD, ceramic and carbon fiber used. The case itself gets a distinct metallic shade, thanks to a new TITALYT treatment over the titanium, which is usually saved for aerospace, Formula 1 and medical applications. The combo of avant-garde technology and design and a bit of formality with a thin, square case makes it a perfect choice for Pharrell’s famously eclectic style.

Diane Kruger – Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie 101 Art Deco

One actress that is usually seen with a nice timepiece is Jaeger-LeCoultre ambassador Diane Kruger. At this year’s Academy Awards she wore a JLC Joaillerie 101 Art Deco watch, which must be a favorite of hers as it’s been spotted on her wrists at several events over the last year or so. This incredibly thin jewelry watch looks like a bracelet from far away. Once closer you see a small dial with a diamond set bezel. And you may expect a quartz movement to power such a small watch, but it actually houses the world’s smallest mechanical movement, a record their “Caliber 101” has held since 1929.
