Kingdom is excited and proud to be sponsoring local professional rugby league club the Leigh Centurions.

The team will be playing in Super League from 2017, having gained automatic promotion this year after winning their first 5 matches in the middle eight’s competition.

Kingdom is sponsoring the team between the 1st November 2016 and the 31st October 2017. The sponsorship was arranged by Kingdom’s CEO, Terry Barton BA (Hons).

As part of the sponsorship package, Kingdom’s company logo will appear on both the 2017 home and away Leigh Centurions playing and replica shorts. The company logo will also appear on the club’s website and on all club branding. Kingdom will also have a full page advert in the 2017 match day programme for the season, and a 16 feet pitch-side advertising board in the TV arc between January and December 2017. Finally, Kingdom will receive a framed pair of signed shorts.

Kingdom’s Tina Fessey (Vetting Team Manager - shown) and Karen Kelly (Vetting Support) were very excited to meet five of Leigh Centurion’s new players as well as their coach at a meet and greet event for the fans on Tuesday 13th December, where the players chatted with the fans before taking a question and answers session. Tina is photographed with Atelea Vea who recently joined Leigh Centurions from St Helens on a two year contract.

Originally known as Leigh until 1995, the Leigh Centurions were founded in 1878, and were one of the original 22 clubs that made up the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895. They have been Rugby League Champions twice in the last 138 years, in 1906 and 1982, and have also won the Challenge Cup twice, in 1921 and 1971.

Their ground is at the Leigh Sports Village, which they moved to in December 2008, having previously been at the Hilton Park ground since 1947. It is a new 12,500 capacity stadium which is made up of 10,000 seats and a standing terrace of approximately 2,500. The stadium in Leigh, Greater Manchester, is approximately six miles away from Kingdom’s National Support Centre in Newton-le-Willows.

According to their website, “Leigh was once known for three things- Coal, Cotton and Rugby League. Now the coal-mines and cotton mills are gone but the Rugby League club remains. Leigh Centurions is a community club that sits close to the hearts of the people in the town and surrounding area. It is a club with a great tradition and heart and its supporters are fiercely loyal and look forward to an exciting future.”
