I love your blog and I was hoping you could help me find some boots. I have always purchased a cheap pair of brown riding boots and a cheap pair of cognac slimmer boots each year to wear during the winter. Now, I want to buy one pair that is a middle ground between those two, but is a higher quality so they will last.I found these Cole Haan Arlington Leather Boots at the Nordstrom anniversary sale [see them here] and LOVE them, but my price range is $150 or less. Can you help me find something similiar?

Retailers don’t have a ton of boots available yet—by the end of this month there should be a bigger selection. Still, I think I found some good boots in your price range!
First, the good news. There are similar Cole Haan styles from last season on sale. The bad news is that stock is running low. This tall boot style is about $116 (from $378). This knee high boot is about $100 in select sizes. This super high equestrian boot is around $130 in select sizes.
Yoox has a few pairs that are similar to the Cole Haan ones you like. This leather Miss Sixty pair is nice. They’re $68 (from $133) and available in sizes 5, 6, 7, 10. I’m also a big fan of these Andrea Morelli leather riding boots ($140). Bikkembergs has a gorgeous cognac pair for $135 (from $301!). They’re available in sizes 6, 8, 10, 11.
Amazon is another good spot to check. I have a few pairs of Dolce Vita boots and they are great quality and really comfortable. This DV by Dolce Vita boot is SO pretty and is $133 (from $219) in dark brown or $81 (from $219) in cognac. Enzo Angiolini’s “Shobi” riding boot is available in dark brown or dark natural and about $100-$120. Joan & David’s leather riding boot has a classic equestrian style that I like and it’s about $90 in brown. If you’re a size 6 or 6.5, you HAVE to check out Ariat’s brown Preston riding boot, marked down to about $50 (from $298). There are two Nine West pairs available too—the Port riding boot ($60 from $200) and the Counter boot (about $120). Sizes are running low, but I’ve had a pair of leather Nine West boots for going on 6 years now and they still look brand new.
I think you should also take a look at Corso Como’s Stirrup boot ($149.90 from $200). The brown is lighter than the Cole Haan pair, but they get great reviews and it’s in your price range.
Another really close match is the Steven “Sady” boot, though it’s hard to find right now. It’s available on Amazon (for $50 in sizes 6 and 6.5 and $168 in sizes 9.5 and 10 in cognac). The brown version is about $80. It’s available in many sizes from Bloomingdale’s (but is over your budget at $169).
I hope this helped and I’ll keep an eye out for more styles as we get closer to fall.
