The holidays are rapidly approaching and while this means warm times with family and friends, we also know that it typically means one other thing, too…FOOD! This is easier for some folks than others though, especially if you have any dietary restrictions.

Thankfully, after some delicious research by us, we can confirm that you can indeed have some amazing treats during the holidays even if you have to wary of gluten. You can stick to your gluten-free diet and enjoy the most amazing gluten-free desserts – especially during the holidays – and we’re going to pass along some of the recipes. The delightful thing with the recipes we found is that no one will ever know they are gluten free. Win-win, right?

There are so many online recipes that help you make that yummy desert you have been craving. While it does take a little longer to prepare, because typically there are more ingredients to add; but, just know…IT’S WORTH IT! Below are five holiday deserts that are easy to make. You can find all the ingredients for these at most gluten-free friendly supermarkets like Whole Foods Market or Fairway Market and more and more, even your local supermarkets.  Check out each of these, given them a try and report back to us with your gluten-0free treat recommendations, too!

1. Gluten/Dairy-Free Pumpkin Muffins, Cupcakes and Loafs



Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups gluten-free all purpose flour mix

1 1/2 teaspoons gluten-free baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon allspice

1/2 teaspoon guar gum OR xanthan gum IF the GF all purpose flour mix you use does NOT contain gum)

1 small, cored and minced apple (peeled optional)

1/2 cup finely chopped dried figs

1/4 cup light brown sugar

2/3 cup light organic canned coconut milk OR milk if you prefer

3 large eggs

2 tablespoons light olive oil

3 tablespoons canned pumpkin puree (don’t use premixed pumpkin pie mix)

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Ingredients for Crumble Topping: (optional)

1/4 cup gluten-free all purpose flour mix

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablepoon Spectrum All Vegetable Shortening OR butter, if you prefer

2. Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie Recipe



Ingredients:

1 1/4 cups canned pumpkin (not sweetened canned pumpkin pie mix)

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon amaranth flour OR sweet rice flour

2 lightly beaten large eggs

1 cup evaporated canned milk

2 tablespoons water

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Heavy, whipping cream for garnish (optional)

1 9-inch unbaked gluten-free pie crust

3. Gluten Free Pumpkin Scones with a Spiced Glaze



Ingredients:

1 1/4 cup brown rice flour

1/4 cup tapioca starch

3 teaspoons xanthan gum (Update: I’ve made with 2 tsp, and it worked GREAT)

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

6 tablespoons unsalted cold butter, cut into chunks

1/2 cup pumpkin puree

2 tablespoons milk or cream

1 large egg

Egg white or milk to brush the tops of the scones with (optional)

1 tablespoon course sugar to sprinkle on the top (optional)

Spice Glaze Ingredients:

1/2 cup confectioners’ (or icing) sugar

1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1 Tbsp milk

4. Gluten-Free Pumpkin Cheesecake with Gingersnap-Walnut Crust

Ingredients:

4 ounces gluten-free gingersnap cookies (18-20 1 3/4-inch cookies)

1 cup walnut halves, divided

4 teaspoons walnut oil or canola oil

12 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufchâtel)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

3 large eggs

1 tablespoon gluten-free vanilla extract (see Tip)

1 16-ounce container nonfat cottage cheese

1 15-ounce can unseasoned pumpkin puree

5. Soft Gluten Free Brownie Cookies

Ingredients:

4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

8 tablespoons (112 g) unsalted butter, chopped

2 tablespoons (42 g) unsulphured molasses

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2/3 cup (145 g) packed light brown sugar

1 1/4 cups (175 g) all-purpose gluten-free flour

1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum (omit if your blend already contains it)

2 tablespoons (10 g) Dutch-processed cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg (60 g, out of shell) at room temperature, beaten
