For the freebie theme this week, I thought I would do my top fictional crushes, but when I started thinking about some of my favorite guys, I also thought about the girls that they loved. And so I decided to do my favorite couples instead. These are the ones that I rooted for the most, and I couldn’t wait to see them get together.
Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy
How can you not love Lizzie and Mr. Darcy? They are perfect for each other. And they have one of the most awkward and hilarious proposals of all time!
Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe
When I read these books as girl, all I wanted was for Anne to open her eyes and see how perfect Gilbert was for her! He always loved Anne, and that patience paid off, because eventually he got the girl. Though it took way too many books in my opinion to do so.
Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley
JK Rowling may have changed her mind, but I still believe that Ron and Hermione were meant to be. I knew it from the first book!
Captain Thorne and Cress
I just read The Lunar Chronicles last year, but Captain Thorne and Cress quickly became one of my favorite couples. They’re so great together!
Bella Swan and Jacob Black
She chose wrong, people! SHE CHOSE WRONG!
Scarlet O’Hara and Rhett Butler
Scarlet didn’t get Rhett at the end of Gone with the Wind, but this is still one of the most passionate romances of all time!
Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark
I was so happy when Katniss chose Peeta! Peeta was so kind, and he loved Katniss all her life. See! Girls do choose nice guys!
Buffy Summers and Angel
My only non-book couple, but definitely my favorite of all time. She is the vampire slayer and he is a vampire. Their love was always doomed, but they chose to love each other anyway. It was heartbreaking and beautiful.
