Palacký University

Palacký University in Olomouc was named after František Palacký – a national revivalist, an enlightened scientist, critic and aesthetician, politician and outstanding historian. Although there was no direct connection between Palacký and Olomouc, his work was so influential that it is a great honour for Olomouc University to bear his name. Palacký University has several study programmes in English to choose from, including English and Chinese philology, Euroculture, European studies and Jewish studies. University also offers preparatory courses for international students interested in Medicine or Dentistry.

University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Studies

A public university of Brno with more than 90 years of tradition gives students from around the world a unique opportunity to study Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology, and Pharmacy. All study programmes are taught in English, as well as in Czech. The University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences is the only university in the Czech Republic specializing in veterinary medicine, veterinary hygiene and ecology, and just one of two that teaches pharmaceutical science. The university campus is situated on unique premises of Brno-Kralove pole with a special atmosphere created by the building’s enclosed spatial layout.

College of Banking

Prague’s College of Banking (Bankovni institut vysoká škola – BIVŠ) is the oldest private higher education institution in the Czech Republic. College of Banking gives students a chance to choose from a variety of study programmes in English, Russian or Czech. BIVŠ’s goal is to create a professional modernized education system, by preparing students to the banking and finance business world. The following programmes are currently available at the College of Banking:

Bachelor’s Degree programs with a concentration to be chosen from seven different areas in either daily or combined (less frequent but more intensive for working students) studies

Master’s Degree programs with Finance or Information Technology concentrations in either daily or combined studies

Film and TV School

Film and TV School (FAMU) is an integral part of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, which was founded after World War II, in 1947. FAMU is the fifth oldest film school in the world! FAMU is proud of its graduates, among which are many well-known filmmakers and scriptwriters, some of them were Oscar winners or laureates of international film festivals. There is a special department called FAMU International, which is cultivating the long-term presence of international students at the Film school. The official language in the Department of FAMU International is English and FAMU has also developed various study programmes meeting the needs of international students.

Established in 1899 by Emperor Franz Joseph I, Brno University of Technology (BUT) is the city’s oldest university. University offers high-quality studies in engineering, scientific, economic and artistic fields. BUT’s 8 faculties accomodate 24 thousand students, which makes Brno University of Technology the nation’s largest technical university. Focusing on science and research, the university now has five of its own research centres being engaged in two centres of excellence. Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS) is the third largest public university located in Prague. Over 150 study programmes, at BSc, MSc and PhD level, are currently offered at CULS, responding to the needs of students as well as the demands of our society.
