MOROCCAN RUSTIC

Wood, leather and wool are key aspects of Moroccan decor and can be richly layered to give the look a rustic twist. Prioritise texture over colour; go heavy on natural materials but stick to a tonal colour palette to bring everything together. To make Moroccan rustic work, patterns should be carved, punched out or woven rather than printed to provide subtle detailing and interest.

Get the Look: carved wooden wall panels, kilim floor cushions, beni ouarain rugs, woven Moroccan baskets, tan leather pouffes, iron lanterns.

MOROCCAN BRIGHTS

Indulge in a vibrant colour scheme drawn from the spices in the souk to create a bright Moroccan interior. Be playful, mixing jewel-like shades and exciting patterns to give your room an eclectic feel that’s full of bohemian character. Wall colour is an option – consider diluting the paint to create a washed effect for an authentic feel – or go for crisp white to make bright accessories pop. Patterns can be applied to anything from embroidered cushions to glazed ceramics and bedlinen… more is more!

Get the look: pom-pom bedspreads, embroidered cushions, bright storage baskets, boucherouite rugs, coloured mint tea glasses, pendant lights with stained glass panels, Moroccan leather slippers, patterned tableware.

MOROCCAN MINIMALISM

Moroccan style can look incredibly elegant, with carefully-chosen pieces in pure white and minimal accents of bleached wood and silver metals. Be sure to use lots of texture in the form of throws, cushions and rugs to stop this style looking too stark. Pattern for a minimal Moroccan interior comes in the form of punched metal lanterns, silver sequins and tray tables with delicate engraved patterns.

Get the look: Handira wedding blankets, white leather pouffes, metal tray tables, silver candle lanterns and punched metal pendant light shades, monochrome ceramic tableware, bone inlaid furniture, clear tea glasses.

MOROCCAN INDIGO

Deep indigo blue is one of the key colours for summer, so why not combine two of the biggest trends to create this sophisticated interior scheme? Keep the backdrop simple with white walls and floorboards, warmed up with natural fibre rugs, floor cushions and patterned fabrics. The aim is Moroccan style made floaty, so keep the mood light and airy, without heavy materials or fussy detailing. A few patterned deep blue and white textiles are all you need.

Get the look: natural fibre rugs, indigo blue block printed bedspread, shapely mirrors, indigo cushions, carved headboard, copper tealight holders, house plants.
