As guests get ready to the head to the high country for the Thanksgiving Holiday and ski areas around the state prepare to open, Mother Nature blanketed resorts across Colorado with up to 13 inches of snow.

Copper Mountain opened for the season today with an 18 inch base and 6 inches of fresh powder. Arapahoe Basin and Loveland are also open for the season with guests enjoying 7 inches of snow this morning at each resort.

Elsewhere, Steamboat received 13 inches overnight while 8 inches fell at Winter Park; both resorts will open November 23 in advance of Thanksgiving.

At Sunlight and Telluride 6 inches fell in the last 24 hours, while Cooper, Monarch Mountain and Powderhorn all welcomed 5 inches.

Purgatory will open tomorrow, November 19, and provide guests a unique Colorado experience of mountain biking and skiing in the same day with mountain biking available in the morning and skiing after 1 pm.
