An auction next month will feature items previously belonging to Elvis Presley, including musical instruments, clothing and other personal effects.
The event will be hosted by Profiles in History, owned by Joe Maddalena, and includes a custom-made wedding ring which Elvis wore during his marriage to Priscilla.
The diamond and platinum wedding ring was specially made for the world-famous singer. He married Priscilla Ann Beaulieu on the 1st May 1967 at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. The estimated value of the ring is between $80,000(£50,000) and $120,000(£74,000).
Also in the sale is a guitar that Elvis gave to Norman Taurog during the 1970s, estimated now to be worth around $40,000 (£25,000). The guitar is accompanied by items which clearly demonstrate its authenticity – a DVD featuring a home movie, showing the guitar being played by Elvis on stage, a letter of authenticity from the son of Norman Taurog and colour photos which show the Memphis-born performer with the guitar.
Other items belonging to the King will be featured at the auction, including a letter written by Elvis to a fan and the belt which he wore with the black ‘Conquistador’ jumpsuit while performing on stage in Hawaii.
Profiles in History was launched by Joe Maddalena in 1985 and deals in Hollywood memorabilia.
