The Goodwood Revival is, quite simply, an orgy of vintage racing. That photo up there? That’s just a randomly-chosen still from the video live-feed of the weekend’s racing, captured before we began writing this piece, and it just happens to depict some of racing’s greatest machines being driven at full-tilt. It’s a pretty great depiction of what the weekend holds. And you can watch the whole thing right here, as it happens.

-

Whereas the similarly named Goodwood Festival of Speed that’s held earlier in the year features the newest, most high-tech go-fast machines out there, the Revival is all about the old school. Drawing more than 100,000 spectators, featuring the greatest racing cars built between the 1920s and the 1960s, and showcasing the driving talent of such legends as Brian Redman, Bobby Rahal, and Derek Bell, the Revival is perhaps the most natural environment to watch classic Jaguars, Maseratis, Cobras, Ferraris, Astons, and more duke it out.

-

And duke it out they do. This is no quiet, demure, Pebble Beach–style parade. This is all-out racing, friends, even more so than the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion that happens the same weekend as the Pebble Beach concours. Wheel-to-wheel, red-mist competition. Sometimes, priceless metal gets crunched, and everyone’s okay with that. You won’t see Ferrari 250GTOs being kept in hermetically sealed bubbles here—you’ll see them on the racetrack, as God and Enzo intended.

-

Before you die, you must make time to attend the Revival. Until then, you can watch live video from the weekend right here. This livestream will be on all weekend, showcasing every race. It’s the closest thing to being there.
