Royal National Park was gazetted in 1879, making it the oldest national park in Australia. It is the 2nd oldest national park in the world; Yellowstone National Park in the U.S. is the only national park that is older. The park covers over 150 square km and encompasses 3 settlements, bushwalks, trails, a campsite, lagoons, coastal trails, and beaches along the coast of the Tasman Sea. It is easily accessible and a popular holiday destination for visitors and locals alike. Royal National Park is located in New South Wales 29 kilometres south of Sydney and about 40 kilometres north or Wollongong. Daintree Rainforest: Explore the Oldest Rainforest in the World

The Daintree Rainforest is the oldest and largest contiguous rainforest in the world. It is also unique in that it is the only rainforest along the coast. That means that from some views in the rainforest, you can actually see the ocean at Cape Tribulation. It is alongside the Daintree National Park, which includes Daintree Village and incorporates the Daintree Rainforest plus other geological features including Mossman Gorge, Cape Tribulation, mountains, and beaches; plus it overlaps with the Queensland Wetlands World Heritage Site. There are so many things to do in Daintree, lodging is available, swimming, boating, hiking, animal viewing, and much more. You can spend a day or an entire holiday here exploring the ancient rainforest that is an estimated 140 million years old.

Gold Coast is known for its family-friendly attractions. As the name suggests, it is right on the coast just on the border between New South Wales and Queensland. The proximity to the beach and all of the other attractions makes it very easy to get around. Its central location makes it easy to get to from other cities and states in Australia. The family attractions in Gold Coast include Warner Brothers Movie World, Dreamworld, White Water World, Seaworld, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, and of course, the beach! The Gold Coast is located on the east coast of Australia in Queensland. It is 69 kilometres south of Brisbane, or about an hour long trip by car. If you are up for a road trip, Gold Coast is about a 9 hour road trip north of Sydney. There is also an airport located in nearby Coolangatta.
