Retailer Eddie Bauer recently acknowledged that it’s become the latest target of cyber criminals who gained access to some customers’ payment card information at all of its 350 properties in North America, via a point-of-sale data breach that began in early 2016 and continued through July 2016.
In a press release and letter from the Eddie Bauer CEO, the company said that “malware captured customers’ information for purchases made using payment cards at retail stores on various dates between January 2, 2016 and July 17, 2016, including cardholder name, payment card number, security code and expiration date.”
