Connecticut

Event: Daffodil Festival

Venue: Hubbard Park in Meriden, CT

Date: April 30 – May 1, 2016

Description: Featuring the much anticipated Silver Fork Food Tent with 40 local, non-profit organizations vendors purveying an eclectic selection of ethnic delicacies; juried craft fair (100 vendors); three stages of free, continuous, musical entertainment; highlighting Connecticut-based groups, fireworks, children’s activities, amusements, parade.

Event: 35th Annual Fine Arts & Flowers

Venue: Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT

Date: April 29 – May 1, 2016

Description: Florists, garden clubs, and interior designers from across New England create floral arrangements and garden designs inspired by masterworks from the permanent collection to display during this museum fundraiser. The floral designs are showcased throughout the galleries for three days only – so mark your calendars! Events throughout the weekend include performances by Connecticut Lyric Opera, floral demonstrations, an Artisan Boutique with local vendors, and an elegant Floral Tea.

Event: Thread City Hop Fest

Venue: Jillson Square in Willimantic, CT

Date: May 1, 2016

Description: From great food, to great beer and live music (with a lot of fun things in-between) the Thread City Hop Fest is on its way to becoming a signature event in the City of Festivals. Attendees enjoy beer samples from more 60 breweries from throughout New England. Food and entertainment will be available beginning at 2 p.m.; music by Vulturetown Arts. Ages 21+ only.

Event: Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra

Venue: The PAST Antiques Marketplace at Nature’s Art Village in Montville, CT

Date: May 1, 2016

Description: The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College is thrilled to present a very special afternoon with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. Affectionately known as “America’s Orchestra,” the Boston Pops is the most recorded and arguably the most beloved orchestra in the country.

Rhode Island

Event: 8th Annual Pawcatuck River Duck Race

Venue: Downtown Westerly

Date: April 30, 2016

Description: 20,000 rubber ducks are dumped en masse in the Pawcatuck River for a race that benefits 40+ local charities and schools. Buy a duck for a chance to win over 90 prizes. Children’s games, rides, food booths, and other activities make this a wonderful family event. If you would like to purchase a duck or your organization would like more information about selling ducks, please contact the Chamber.

Event: Eat Drink RI Festival: Grand Tasting

Venue: Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI

Date: April 30, 2016

Description: Samplings of locally produced beer, wine and spirits, as well as an abundance of local food artisans at the Rhode Island Convention Center. During the Tasting, there will be three Culinary Demonstrations featuring Rhode Island’s top chefs paired with a local producer to wow attendees with some of the best food in the country.
