To make sure they always appear picture-perfect, go into BeFunky’s Photo Editor and upload your image.
To show the home you’re selling in the best light, click on Exposure from the Edit menu, and adjust the settings. If the weather wasn’t ideal on the day you took the photo, turn Brightness and Highlights up to lighten the sky and create the illusion of sun. If there are unattractive shadows on your image, make them disappear by clicking on Paint from the Exposure tool menu and turning up Fill Light. Then, click and drag your mouse over the shadows to make them fade away.
Using Sharpen is another effective way to instantly improve the appearance of any home. To apply the effect, select Sharpen from the Edit menu. Then, click on the triangle icon labeled Smart Sharpen and adjust the Amount using the sliding scale. The more you increase the intensity of the Sharpen tool, the crisper and clearer the details in the home will become. It’s a great way to highlight ornate wood carvings, carefully crafted stonework and other intricacies that make a home beautiful and unique.
Quick TipIf you go overboard with the Sharpen tool, you can either reverse or erase the effect by selecting the appropriate icon from the Paint menu.
Remove Distractions and Add Curb Appeal
Unsightly objects can distract viewers from focusing on the home you’re selling and create a cluttered image. Maybe there’s a hose lying in the front yard ruining a picturesque garden shot. Or, maybe a cat is peering out a window and stealing the spotlight from decorative palladium windows. With the Clone tool, you can easily get rid of these distractions and put the focus back on the home you’re selling. To start, leave the Edit menu, enter the Touch Up menu and select Clone.
Then, you will want to select your source, or the part of your photo you would like to replicate and use to cover up that garden hose or pesky cat. When you hover your mouse over your image, a circular shaped target will appear. This target will be used to select your source.
Next, customize your target’s Brush Size and Brush Hardness, and hover it over your source area. (To cover the garden hose, I used a patch of grass as my source. For the cat, I used another window for my source). When your target is perfectly placed, click your mouse to select your source. After you do, a second circle will appear. Use it to select the part of your photo you would like to cover up. Then click your mouse over that area, and watch as your source selection makes kitty (or any unwanted object) disappear.
