Google Cloud Camp - overview for host schools
Our ‘Google for Education CloudCamp’ is a 1 day PD event that includes a curriculum developed by Google expert Allison Mollica which focuses on authentic and valuable ways to use the Google for Education Tools. The cloud Camps are lead by Allison and our worldwide team of leading Google EDU experts. These lessons keep the beginner in mind while providing those ready to ‘level’ up with unique uses and tips for using Google apps in the classroom and school, focussing on productivity and collaboration. The participant feedback has been so tremendous we have decided to roll additional events out across the US and worldwide in 2015.
Overview:
Schools that ‘go Google’ often find themselves scrambling to provide basic training for apps or are unsure of the ‘what else’ they can get out of it.
Google Cloud Camp is a curriculum set up to showcase what you can do with all the apps. It is not a ‘beginner’ but rather a way to ‘level’ up if you are either a beginner or somewhat experienced user. Generally we aim for a minimum of 20-30 participants and there is also an option to add on additional concurrent sessions which would allow for more participants and sessions at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. For this we would bring in additional world class Google trainers.
This is an excellent event for schools looking to train their staff exclusively or combining it with outside registration to bring in attendees from other school and help promote your school as a center for Google excellence.
Here are the key points about the Cloud Camp:
We always aim for a minimum of 20 attendees.

Next Steps:
We can hold a quick Google+ Hangout to go over any questions you have about hosting a Cloud Camp to make sure everything is clear
You look at what dates potentially work for your teachers and staff and if we are doing external registration speak to at least one other local school where you have contacts to check they could make an event on these dates.
We agree dates with you and then get the event website up and running and start promoting the Cloud Camp straight away!
Other events
Our flagship events are Google in Education Summits and depending on other commitments and events that week we often have the flexibility to grow the Cloud Camp into a full summit if registration numbers are larger than expected.
We also run 1 or 2 day ‘Google Apps EDU Certified trainer bootcamp’ courses and AppsEvents Certified Admin courses to prepare your staff to become Google Apps EDU Certified trainers which we also run in partnership with schools. For these events we generally agree a fixed fee and all your staff can attend for free. We will then promote the event to attendees from other schools.
