With Suplex City as a theme and Goldberg the first tourist if users pre-order, WWE 2K17's October 11 release is one of the most anticipated arrivals in the sports video game world in a long time.

The team at 2K Sports has pulled out all the stops in aiming to make the best wrestling game to grace home consoles, with a growing gameplay system pairing with a broadcast rivaling the real thing. Don't forget an incredibly deep roster pooling from deep within WWE's history and the bright, bright future.

WWE 2K17 will unleash hordes of playable characters in the base game, DLC and more. Before the anticipated game finally hears its entrance music hit, let's take a look at the details on the DLC and fresh buzz.

DLC Details

As fans of the series can surely guess, plenty of DLC news has already hit about WWE 2K17.

The game's official website chronicles these, but it is certainly worth a closer look.

First of note is the Accelerator, which gives users access to the VC purchasable section and does a great service in allowing control over all rankings and stats for in-game characters.

Those who have an eye for the future of the company can unlock the following developing stars in the Future Stars Pack:

Austin Aries

Karl Anderson

Luke Gallows

Mojo Rawley

Tye Dillinger

The future doesn't stop there, though, and WWE 2K17 has done a good job of sticking with the current trends while under development. With the NXT Enhancement pack, users can unlock the following major names alongside extra points for MyCareer mode:

Apollo Crews

Nia Jax

Shinsuke Nakamura

Likewise, those with an eye for the past can take a trip in the other direction with the Legends Pack, which grants the following iconic stars:

Brutus Beefcake

Eddie Guerrero

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine

Sycho Sid

Tatanka

Further focusing on the storied history of the sport, the Hall of Fame Showcase complements the above Legends Pack well, offering scenarios rather than wrestlers.

In that particular DLC, users can relive Sting vs. Ric Flair from Clash of Champions 1998, Sting vs. Bret Hart from WCW Halloween Havoc 1998 and even Big Boss Man vs. Big Show from Armageddon 1999.

The DLC can also focus on an individual user's journey through My Career mode. The New Moves Pack helped beef up the arsenal available and the MyPlayer Kick Start, exclusive to next-generation consoles, unlocks access to ratings and gear.

Latest Trailers and Developments

The slow march to release hasn't lacked for details as the hype train continues to pick up a steady pace.

As one can see above, 2K Sports hasn't pulled any punches in promoting Suplex City.

Official trailer aside, which fans will likely see plenty of on television, the creators of the game have used trailers to both hype and reveal new features about this year's release.

For example, 2K Sports recently shared a look at new finishers:

The creators also took a deep look at some of the new physics and details surrounding one of the sport's favorite weapons—tables:

It's always great to see gameplay improvements helping the series make strides toward a more realistic experience.

Really, though, fans of the series want to know about the customization first and foremost. The depth of character creation and how users can put themselves into the game through MyCareer is a major ordeal each year.

2K Sports covered both angles with recent offerings:

Something about likely working with and against Paul Heyman and having Brock Lesnar as an adversary while combating or teaming with a roster reaching both into the past and future screams must-play affair.

As usual, 2K Sports has used the break between games to revamp necessary features and improve the experience for fans who can't get enough. Watching is one thing, but being in control of the action is even better.

Users can get their hands on the WWE Universe and become an architect themselves starting October 11.
