I see a bunch of people in here posting guides on how to grow their followers quickly, so I don't feel like repeating everything they're saying because then it'd be redundant.
My credentials: I've built 3 Twitter pages with 100,000+ followers. My largest was 330,000+ followers. Long story short I was a big fan of twitter money from like 2011-2013. MyLikes paid GREAT back then. I'm talking most ads were 4 cents to 7 cents a click, and quite a few were as high as 25 cents a click. Twitter changed some things towards the end of 2013/early 2014 *cough* Android follow glitch *cough* and most people, like me, gave up. The 'big fish' bought out the 'little fish' so to speak and before I knew it, I sold my 2 biggest pages and kept my smallest page. I was younger and liked quick money. You live and you learn.
This is meant to supplement other guides out there with the 'insider tips' I don't see too many people sharing.
Mass Following(0-3,000 followers)
Twitter marketing 101 here. Follow people in your niche to get followers. Make sure you follow pages that are growing. If a page has 50,000 followers one day and 51,000 followers the next, it has 1,000 fresh followers for you to follow. You can assume off the bat that most of those accounts are active since they just recently followed someone and you can assume some will follow back since they pertain to your niche. Targeted followers are a lot harder to get than non-targeted followers though, so if you just want to grow your account to 3,000 followers quickly, there's always the #teamfollowback method. Search #teamfollowback in the search bar and follow everyone tweeting about it. You'll definitely get a ton of bot/automated accounts, but you'll get a better followback ratio this way and grow your page faster.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MASSING ON AT LEAST 2 or 3 DIFFERENT PAGES INSTEAD OF 1. THINK BIG!
RT4RT(3,000-20,000 followers)
RT4RT stands for 'retweet for retweet'. If you type 'RT4RT' in the Twitter search bar you'll see a ton of people talking about it. These are usually people that aren't into the internet marketing thing but they just want a bunch of followers for popularity/promotion reasons. These people usually have anywhere from 1,000-20,000 followers. I'd suggest getting your page to 3,000 followers via mass following first(or more. or less. it's up to you), then asking people with a similar amount of followers to do RT4RT. You'll retweet each other's pages and your engagement should go up. Do this to SUPPLEMENT your mass following for best results.
TweetDeck(20,000-200,000+)
TweetDeck is a site that allows you to manage multiple pages in 1 window. You can also collaborate with others and exchange access to each other's twitter pages without exchanging passwords. Most 'bigger' pages on Twitter that have tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of followers use TweetDeck. Regularly check your DM's and you might find someone asking you to join their TweetDeck. Or, DM someone and ask them if they're a part of or would like to join your deck. (I won't explain how to set a TweetDeck up, but its fairly easy). They'll most likely ask you for your Kik/GroupMe/Telegram usernames (whichever they use) since that's where most of these people communicate. TweetDeck is essentially RT4RT on demand. Instead of asking people to exchange retweets, you have the ability to retweet yourself from their pages. The catch: they have the ability to retweet themselves from your page (or pages) on demand. If you care a lot about your page's 'brand' or 'image' I'd suggest making a 2nd page to use with TweetDeck so that no one retweets on your valuable page. You can use your alternate page to promote your main page and get it more followers/engagement. You should let the other members in your deck know that you'll be retweeting your main page since its a foreign page and they might think someone's TweetDeck got 'hacked'.. Every TweetDeck has their own rules (undo the retweets after 15 minutes, no more than 2 retweets per hour, etc etc). Some decks encourage promoting ads, some forbid you to post your links and ads. Rules vary from deck to deck. Again, this should be done to supplement your massing.
Try to join a TweetDeck where everyone has a similar amount of followers and respect the rules. You'll catch people abusing pages when they think everyone's asleep, you'll catch people blocking others from retweeting on their pages and all kinds of shady shit. If you have 100,000 followers it isn't beneficial to join a TweetDeck where everyone has 50,000. One deck with 10 accounts at 100,000 followers is a network of 1,000,000 people. That's a lot of possible traffic to your sites and engagement on your pages.
Goals(250,000-500,000+)
Finishing with goals because it involves a little bit of everything. It's sort of like RT4RT, you'll still want to mass follow, and hell, you could still be on a TweetDeck. Like I said earlier, you can have an alternate page on your TweetDeck and your main page apart from it. You should ALWAYS be massing on ALL pages to grow your followers. You'll typically see HUGE pages (1,000,000+ followers) doing goals, that's why this section is for 500,000 and beyond. Don't get me wrong, you don't have to do goals at 250,000 and you might not find many people who do goals at 250,000 followers. You'll be perfectly fine in a TweetDeck at 250,000 followers if you have a couple of others in your deck with a similar amount of followers. Anyway, goals are essentially when you retweet another niche page's tweets and give them some shoutouts. For example, your page is a Food page. The page you're exchanging retweets with is another Food page. We'll call them Food1 and Food2. So you'd retweet and shout each other out.
The format might look something like this
@Food1: "Where has @Food2 been all of my life? I'm so mad I just found out about this page!"
Retweet(Food1 retweeting Food2's page)
@Food1: "Those desserts look DELICIOUS on @Food2 's page! If you're not following them you're CRAZY!"
Retweet(Food 1 retweeting Food2's page)
Food2 is doing the exact same thing on their page. Retweeting your tweets and shouting you out.
At this point you're still massing, probably on a TweetDeck, and since your pages have 250,000+ followers (at least that's what I recommend) then just from exchanging retweets and shoutouts you'll see your followers go up.
That's the end of the guide! Again this meant to supplement other guides. Of course I recommend sites and tools to unfollow nonreciprocal/inactive followers too. Of course I recommend sites/software that can help you mass, but that's been covered so many times I just can't. lol
