To Celebrate Women’s History Month, Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY Annual 12-Hour Twitter Take-Over Set For March 11

ARRAY, the independent film distribution collective founded by filmmaker Ava DuVernay, has announced the launch of its third Twitter Take-Over, known as Rebel-A-Thon. Rebel-A-Thons celebrate underrepresented filmmakers while raising awareness for ARRAY’s annual membership drive. This year’s campaign will unite women filmmakers for a day of interaction to honor Women’s History Month.
Utilizing the hashtag #ArrayToday, over twenty-five directors across five countries will join the 12-hour long
Twitter Q&A in support of ARRAY’s mission to amplify the voices of women and people of color filmmakers. The Twitter gathering will also spotlight ARRAY’s most recent acquisition, NAMOUR, directed by Egyptian-American filmmaker Heidi Saman.
“We offer this year’s Rebel-A-Thon as an opportunity to highlight the important contributions made by women filmmakers,” said ARRAY’s Executive Director Tilane Jones. “On March 1 we will stand together for inclusiveness in the industry.”
The digital event will be hosted by ARRAY founder and Oscar-nominated director, Ava DuVernay (13TH, SELMA) and includes some of film’s most prolific storytellers including:

Since 2010, Array Releasing has distributed fifteen feature films by underrepresented filmmakers in theaters and on digital platforms. Commencing March 1, the two-week membership drive is a call to action that helps to sustain those efforts, culminating with a March 15 Netflix debut of NAMOUR. The announcement was made by ARRAY Founder, Ava DuVernay.
