Last night, 20th Century Fox TV held the premiere to “24: Legacy,” the drama pilot that reboots the 24 franchise, at Spring Studios in New York City.

The series is set to premiere during a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Feb. 5 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following SUPER BOWL LI, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Feb. 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

24: Legacy is produced from creators Manny Coto & Evan Katz, Imagine TV’s Brian Grazer and Howard Gordon. Original star Kiefer Sutherland has come on board as executive producer.

The series stars ‘Straight Outta Compton’ actor Corey Hawkins, Anna Diop, Miranda Otto, Ashley Thomas, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky, Jimmy Smits, Coral Pena and Charlie Hofheimer. Sutherland is NOT expected to reprise his role as Jack Bauer. He currently stars in the new ABC drama Designated Survivor.

Written by 24 veterans Coto and Katz and directed by Stephen Hopkins, “24: Legacy” will revolve around Eric Carter (Hawkins), described as strong and smart, Eric came from a very rough background and turned his life around in the Army Rangers. Now back home in Virginia with his wife Nicole (Diop), he’s pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him — compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.

Thomas will play Isaac Carter, Eric’s older brother. Isaac is angry at Eric regarding their bitter past (which includes Eric now married to Isaac’s former girlfriend, Nicole. Otto will play Rebecca Ingram, the former head of CTU, struggling with having left the counter-terrorism unit. Smits will play John Donovan, a powerful U.S. Senator with higher political aspirations. Vand will play Nilaa, the campaign director of Sen. Donovan (Smits) who is driven and bright and won’t take a back seat to the judgment of Donovan’s wife, Rebecca (Otto).

Bucatinsky will play Andy, a communication analyst at CTU who has enjoyed Rebecca’s (Otto) trust and is unhappily paired with bright, young, self-taught computer analyst Gia (Pena). Marcus (Hofheimer) is Eric’s (Hawkins) former partner in the Army Ranger unit, now suffering PTSD.

The series will play in the real-time format that the original series became famous for. Like limited series 24: Live Another Day, 24: Legacy will run for 12 episodes a season instead of the 24 the original series produced each year, so there will be some time jumps in the 24-hour window covered by each installment. This is the third 24 series on Fox. The original, which ran for 8 seasons, earned a best drama series Emmy Award. Limited series 24: Live Another Day aired in 2014.

The new series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television, in association with Teakwood Lane Productions, original “24” producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, Evan Katz and Brian Grazer will return as exec producers.
