Radio One, the parent company of NewsOne,  plans a series of expos aimed at African American women to introduce them to financial management tools, including the company’s affinity credit card, the One VIP Card from American Express Serve. The first expo will be in Raleigh, N.C. on April 18, and the lineup will include T.D. Jakes.

According to a Radio One press release:

It’s been nine months since Radio One and American Express Serve introduced the One VIP Card from American Express Serve. This full service reloadable prepaid account, which has no credit check, no minimum balance, and no hidden fees is also loaded with entertainment rewards and loyalty experiences uniquely created by Radio One, the only African-American owned and targeted multimedia conglomerate in the country.

To continue to raise awareness for this money management tool and the need for financial empowerment among women, Radio One is hoping to reach nearly 50,000 African-American women at a series of Women’s Empowerment Expos. These Expos are being hosted this year by its leading urban radio stations in seven major markets throughout the country: Raleigh, NC – April 18 Indianapolis, MN – May 2 Detroit, MI – August 15 Cincinnati, OH – September 26 Richmond, VI – October 17 Cleveland, OH – October 25.
