To coincide with the positive market response to its new residential products, award winning developer Royal Park has launched a campaign to promote what it calls #realmauritius, in order to showcase the diversity and adventure available beyond the beach.

Royal Park is a mixed use development project within Balaclava Bay on the North West coast of Mauritius, where a new lifestyle destination and a residential community, supported by a world-class resort management service, is being created within 100 hectares of undulating parkland and spectacular beachfront. Only 12 minutes from Grand Baie and 15 minutes from Port Louis, this development is unlike the conventional resort model as it is designed for local and international owners alike.

“Today’s consumers and equally, second home-buyers want things to do, to see, to discover and importantly, to share, either in person on their social platforms. Island travel has evolved beyond the ‘beach and bathe’ cliché and now ‘experience’ is the new buzzword in luxury,” says Brett Gregory-Peake, Royal Park CEO.

In contrast to the many typical resort projects on the island, Royal Park encourages existing and potential home owners to venture beyond its boundaries and has created a wealth of destinations and experiences designed to keep adults and kids alike enthralled.

Short boat trips to picnics on deserted islands such as Coin de Mire and Flat Island, biking the Moka mountain range some 20 minutes away and enjoying Royal Park’s very own 500 hectare nature reserve and deer park represent just some of the activities available. Christophe Carlier, director of Royal Park Resorts comments, “Whether you want to have a massage or go base-jumping from nearby La Pouce, we’ve got it covered.”

“Mauritius is no atoll, it’s a country abundant in character, culture depth and adventure potential. We’re celebrating the launch of our new travel and experience service called R Discovery, which we have equipped with a fleet of Land Rovers and a 50ft Sunseeker, complete with a team of drivers, skippers, guides and experts to provide access to what we call #realmauritius,” says Gregory-Peake.

“R Discovery provides experiences across the island, including adventures at Salazie – our own 500ha nature reserve, to the surrounding islands and the Southern UNESCO heritage sites and other attractions.”

Owners’ at Royal Park also benefit from a privilege only card that provides exclusive rates with the island’s leading destinations and suppliers, plus access to extraordinary events and experiences. This card is made available at the point of purchasing a property and provides card holders with immediate access to deals including 20 percent off food and beverages at leading hotels and restaurants, Royal Park’s own clubhouse, swimming pools, gym and tennis facilities and use of over 5000 holiday homes worldwide.

Launched successfully almost two years ago, Royal Park is rapidly becoming a well established lifestyle estate which connects with the true heritage and personality of Mauritius while providing all the services and facilities expected from a leading resort, says Richard Haller, operations director of Pam Golding Properties International & Projects Division.

“Since the launch of this development Royal Park has seen 244 stands sold to locals – with a number of houses nearing completion. A further 90 transactions to a total sales value of over ZAR1 billion have been concluded with a mix of international buyers, the bulk being South African and French with the balance from Belgium, Italy and the rest of Europe.

Haller says the uptake of 90 properties on the international market in less than two years reflects the quality and value for money pricing of the Royal Park development and ongoing appeal of Mauritius as an investment destination.

“Ultimately, owners are purchasing because of the unique resort facilities and services, excellence in design and the location of the project close to Grand Baie and the island’s capital Port Louis.”

Residences at Royal Park start from approximately $500 000 for a fully furnished two bedroom apartment, ranging up to $2 million for a spacious five bedroom villa. All properties have the option of a furniture pack  and feature products from Europe’s leading suppliers.

“Construction of apartments, townhouses and villas as well as the estate clubhouse and gym are well under way with the first delivery of units expected in early 2017. This first phase of apartments sold – called Mascarene apartments – is now roof height with an expected hand-over to owners in early 2017.

“In addition, a handful of the luxurious Savanah villas as well as the Sandpiper townhouses and Bel Air townhouses are being constructed.”

The design style has created modern, versatile spaces which connect with the outdoors, allowing owners to take full advantage of the tropical climate and the island’s breathtaking landscape. The architecture takes inspiration from Eastern influences, while incorporating local materials and the chic modernity of Western design styles.

“Benefits to owners include Mauritian residency status, access to a host of activities via the resort’s own Privilege Card and a rental management service whereby owners can place their properties in the resort rental pool and take advantage of professional property management and maintenance services,” says Haller.
