Lexington, KY – The Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing at the University of Kentucky will host the Third International Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing on Friday, Aug. 9.

The forum will bring together nationally and internationally known experts in sustainable manufacturing from industry, academia and federal agencies to examine advances in sustainable manufacturing at the product, process, systems and supply-chain levels.

“Sustainable development is no longer a choice but a necessity that must be followed at all levels,” said Fazleena Badurdeen, forum chair and associate professor in the UK College of Engineering. “Manufacturing being one of the major drivers of development, innovative sustainable manufacturing practices must be developed and implemented to make sure that economic growth is achieved while addressing environmental and social concerns.”
