Cub Foods may be planting a new, smaller store in Blaine.

Tri-Land Properties Inc. presented a redevelopment plan to the City of Blaine during a workshop with the city council on Jan. 15. The proposal called for a 45,000-square-foot Cub Foods at Oak Park Plaza, a 1960s-era shopping center at the intersection of 109th Avenue NE and University Avenue NE.

That's a relatively small size for a Cub Foods, whose newer stores tend to average around 60,000 to 70,000 square feet. Cub Foods parent Supervalu…
