The number of domestic business trips is expected to decline slightly for this year, while spending on those trips is predicted to increase modestly, according to the latest forecast from the Global Business Travel Association, Phoenix Business Journal reports.

The GBTA now expects total U.S. business travel spending to grow 2.6 percent in 2012, reaching $257 billion by the end of the year. However, the uptick in business spending is being driven largely by rising business travel costs.
