The board of trustees at the University of North Texas on Friday fired Dr. Scott Ransom as president of the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth and named Michael Williams, DO, MD, as interim president.
Williams, 58, is a Fort Worth native and has been a member of the UNT board of regents for the past 15 months. Ransom had been president of the institution since 2006.
