A chemistry department facility that the University of Alabama at Birmingham has just unveiled is expected to give the school a big hand in the discovery of new drugs.

UAB health care and science officials gathered outside the chemistry building Friday morning to celebrate the unveiling of the 1,600-square-foot Central Alabama High-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility. As I previously reported, the facility is housed in a renovated laboratory belonging to the chemistry department.
