Beautibi was founded by an Asian beauty addict just like us. Her intention is to shower us with some of the best Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese beauty and skincare products ever. The current focus of Beautibi is beauty boxes, though there is a small shop where you can find things you love.

The Beautibi Beauty Boxes are not subscription boxes. These are curated, one time purchase boxes. So it's like Memebox, only with a greater attention to detail. The box contents are not a secret either. You'll be able to see the inclusions and decide which you want. There are currently three available, including this Repair and Recover one that I am reviewing today.

The presentation of this box is so perfect. It would make an excellent gift for someone you know who loves Asian beauty, too. That's how beautiful the box and wrappings are. After removing the lid, there was a packet of samples including Tony Moly and Too Cool For School and others. I always love getting these little samples.

The Cost: $45 + shipping for the Repair and Recover Box

What You Get: Specially curated products from Asia. Items in each box will differ. Each box will have at least 5 different items, mostly full-sized. All boxes will include a facial sheet mask.

Mizon Snail Recovery Gel- This is a product that I love. It has 74% snail secretion filtrate along with sodium hyaluronate, antioxidants and peptides! All the things you want in your moisturizer. This is a lightweight gel that is really perfect for the summer heat. The smell is light and faintly herbal, nothing offensive at all. It sinks right into my skin and leaves no residue or stickiness. Love it.
Value: $10

Mizon Good Night White Sleeping Mask- Sleeping packs are an Asian beauty staple. These are meant to be worn thickly at night and washed off in the morning. You can technically use this as a regular moisturizer, too. This one is called whitening because it has niacinamide in it which is excellent at fading dark spots. Something about it prevents the over production of melanin so you get an even skin tone. I love it in my skincare and this mask is a good way to get it.
Value: $13

Too Cool For School Good Morning Rice Wash Packs- These are not really my style but they're pretty popular. TCFS is an excellent Korean brand with many great products. This rice wash has rice extract, rice wine and rice bran in it. It's a great wash for sensitive skin. You are supposed to pour this packet into a bowl of water and then use the water to wash your face. That just seems messy to me and I don't have the counter space for it. Too many skincare products adorn my counterspace. :D I might try mixing this with honey and making a mask of it.
Value: $6

Etude House "I Need You" Wash Off 4-Pack in Honey or Yogurt- I received the yogurt kind and there are four flavors: Kiwi, Strawberry, Apple and Apricot. These are pretty big packs and I surmise that there's at least two uses each. The info card suggests saving the second half in the fridge for the next day. I like to use wash off masks before I get in the shower. I slather it on (either morning or night), wait ten minutes then hop in the shower to wash it off.
Value: $8

Maskingdom Metropolitan Radiant Glow Sheet Mask x2- Ooo! These are a Taiwanese brand and I've never heard of them. I do like My Beauty Diary and they're Taiwanese so I'm pretty sure I'll like these. Even better, they have English ingredients stickered onto them! These use glycerin as a moisturizer and contain niacinamide. There's also vitamin B, biotin and some fruit extracts. And I'm so happy there are two! I always think there should be two masks, one to use and one to confirm all your thoughts about the first one.
As a side note, isn't the packaging gorgeous?
Value: $12 ($6/ea)

And all the little samples, Banila Co. Clean It Zero, Tony Moly Panda Cream and I'm Real Seaweed Lotion. And some TCFS primer and CC cream.

VERDICT: This Repair and Recover Box by Beautibi is excellently curated. The products adhere to the theme and are of good quality. Plus I love Mizon. The brand spread is nice although it would have been fun to see one less Mizon and one more of something else. But since I enjoy Mizon and their products, it doesn't bother me in this box. And I love seeing something I've never used before. That's the Maskingdom masks. I can't wait to use them.

I think the biggest downside to this box is the cost. Based on most of the kbeauty boxes out there, I think even the huge companies (Memebox) still have a hard time putting great value into their boxes, though. Technically you can purchase most of these items elsewhere for about the same price you pay for the box plus shipping. But you miss out on the packaging and the things you can't buy like the Maskingdom masks.

I definitely believe that there is great potential for Beautibi. With such thoughtful curation, it will be fun to see more boxes each month and hopefully a way to bring costs down soon. This company is so young, it's got a lot of room to grow and expand. Maybe a Kickstarter campaign would help with some seed money. I just think that with Asian beauty products becoming so much more prevalent, the demand is definitely there for something like this.

What do you think of this box? The curation and/or the products? Is this something that would interest you?
