Marine BioResource Centre (MBRC) is established recently at Jamnagar under the aegis of Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, DST, Govt. of Gujarat, to promote research in the field of Marine Biotechnology for sustainable utilization of marine bioresources of the state. Gujarat state having a coastline of 1600 km is globally identified as one of the hot spots of Marine Biodiversity.
Highly motivated eligible candidates are invited for a walk-in interview for the following posts in Marine BioResource Centre, Jamnagar, on 3rd March, 2014:
Position : Junior Research Fellow (Two Posts)
Desired Profile : M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life Science from a recognized University and one year experience of lab work.
Experience : Practical experience of techniques of molecular biology and computer skills of using molecular bio-informatics data bases for applicants with degrees in any of the Biological sciences and experience of extraction; fractionation; bioactivity screening and characterization of bioactive molecules for applicants with degrees in chemical and pharmaceutical sciences; publications; familiar to use lab equipments and skills of swimming / diving.
Duration : 11 months purely on contract basis and also extendable based on satisfactory work and performance.
Position : Project Assistant
Desired Profile : M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology from a recognized university.
Experience : Ready for field collections; good communication and writing skills in English, computer skills, aptitude to learn new lab work, maintenance of equipments, log books and any other work assigned and also skills of swimming / diving.
Duration : 11 months purely on contract basis and also extendable based on satisfactory work and performance.
