Job Summary
Full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Biomechanics to begin September 2014 located in Ellensburg, Washington. Screening of applications begins March 28, 2014 and continues until the position is filled.
Instruct courses and laboratory sessions in movement biomechanics with an emphasis on sports and clinical settings. Ability to teach human anatomy classes is required. This would include cadaver labs and/or resistance training principles.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to be integrally involved in a new lab facility design. The candidate will advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in both curriculum and research processes. The candidate is expected to participate in research leading to publications and/or grants, and provide service relevant to university, professional, and community groups.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate in a relevant cognate area that encompasses biomechanics, anatomy, physical therapy, exercise/movement sciences, or kinesiology (Ph.D., DPT). (ABDs will be considered)
A strong commitment to effective teaching and mentoring.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications in relevant area(s) (Example:NSCA-CSCS,AT-C.)
A record of successful scholarship leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentations at professional meetings
A record of prior instructional experience.
