Ace Ferrara and the Dino Menace is relaunching on the App Store with current users needing to repurchase the game and redownload it for their iOS devices. Gamers who currently own the game and are interested in continuing their enjoyment in Ace Ferrara and the Dino Menace can get the game for free until January 2nd.

From the Press Release
"Ace Ferrara And The Dino Menace" is a space combat game in the tradition of the "Wing Commander" games, set in an 80s cartoon universe: Spacefaring dinosaurs have declared war on mankind and only the Proton Riders - an oddball group of superpilots - can save us from certain defeat!

Strike huge capital ships, patrol the depths of unknown solar systems, navigate mine fields and take out enemy aces! The game's controls have been designed for touchscreens: Steering is restricted to left/right, but barrel rolling and other maneuvers more than make up for the missing degrees of freedom... Hit the afterburner to get close to your enemies, switch on your guns and circle around them, or take them out with your missiles, all while keeping a close eye on your ship's different shield quadrants!

Story
Ace Ferrara is a military cadet who just scored the most prestigious internship in the galaxy: aboard the Proton Riders' flagship Discordia. However, between escorting coffee freighters and manning the fax machine, Ace soon discovers that being an intern among his heroes isn't quite what he dreamed it would be. Step into Ace Ferrara's shoes, meet cybernetically augmented cats, daredevil adventurers and the enigmatic Double-Doctor Proton, and work yourself up from lowly intern to galactic hero!

The good news is that the new version of the game comes with a few shiny updates to make redownloading it from the App Store worthwhile. The big ones are:

It now sports customized UI layouts to better accommodate the screen sizes of the iPhone 6 and 6+.

The game now has different types of missiles for different ships: fire an array of swarm rockets, or stun your enemies with powerful EMPs!

And there's a new, hard-to-the-max difficulty mode as well, which comes with four bonus missions. Quite a few players found the original game too easy. It should now be beefy enough to keep even seasoned veterans on their toes.
