Trendy's Dungeon Defenders II has launched on PC via Steam Early Access. The new release brings several new features to gamers with improved action tower defense gameplay, 4-player online co-op, special stats and much more. Are you ready to learn more and start this new adventure? Read on.

Upon booting up Dungeon Defenders II gamers will need to click the "play" button to start your game session were you will be prompted to create your hero. Some of the great characters available include the Huntress, Monk, Apprentice, and Squire. Additional characters can be unlocked with every character having its own unique towers and abilities. Our favorite character was the Huntress (who look like a sexy female version of Zelda's Link) and comes with the ability to heal herself, piercing and concussive shots and explosive trap towers.

In Dungeon Defenders II players will be able to visit the war recruiter to sign up to defend Etheria. It is up to you to protect Etheria from incoming attacks, but in order to help, then you have to select a level range which matches the level of your selected heroes. The Group Finder will allow players to find a group of friends to play with or they can choose to play solo in a private match. Of course, Dungeon Defenders II is a ton more fun if you play with a group but playing solo is a good way to figure out the game's controls before you jump into party matches.

A few interactive elements that will be found in your private tavern include the Defender's Forge (Inventory, Character, Hero Deck, Collections), Hero Manager, Lily's Upgrade Shop, Griffin's Relic Shop, Bane's Weapon Shop, and the War Table. Once you have your hero ready, then you will head over to the War Table to select maps you have unlocked by playing in higher level ranges and accessed from the War Recruiter. The first available map is the gates of Dragonfall. In Dragonfall, a cart transporting an Eternia Crystal has broke down and the Old One's armies are on their way to destroy the Crystal.

Dungeon Defenders II features very colorful graphics and a fun upbeat soundtrack to go along with the immersive, strategic gameplay. The first phase in Dungeon Defenders II is the build phase were you will place your towers to defend the massive hordes of incoming enemies were you must protect your main cores in order to reach the next phase. However, if enemies take down all of your main cores then you will be defeated. Your health bar is found in the upper left corner of the screen alongside the map and tower strength on the right hand side. Once the map has ended, the summary bar will display your experience, gold and greatest finds depending on the amount of waves that you survived. After this, players are able to return to the tavern to upgrade their characters abilities and items. Players will be able to do this process throughout each level as they travel to new and interesting new maps while unlocking tons of new content to enhance their gameplay.

In the end, Dungeon Defenders II is a fun 4-player co-op title with immersive tower defense gameplay that has been greatly approved over its predecessor. Dungeon Defenders II is now available via Steam Early Access for $19.99. To learn more, visit the official Dungeon Defenders II website.

Some Key Features in Early Access

Improved Action Tower Defense Gameplay - Every core mechanic has been refined for a more seamless experience, giving players more control over their actions. A new camera lets you quickly place defenses in the third person. You can now move and build at the same time during the combat phase! Split ability and defense resources allow you to use abilities without sacrificing your defense. Hotkeys let you quickly place all your defenses, use your abilities, and interact with your Defenses!

4-Player Online Co-Op - Defend by yourself or play online with up to three friends!

Special Stats & New Instanced Loot System - An all-new loot system with weapons, armor and relics. Relics are powerful new artifacts that you can equip to augment your specific playstyle. Loot can now roll as either Defense or Hero focused, to help you find the best items for your hero. New special stats do more than just increasing core stats-like adding stun to your cannonball towers, healing you over time, giving you more XP, making boost auras passively heal your blockades, and more! Plus, your frenemies can no longer steal your hard-earned loot.

Elemental Combos & Environmental Traps - Now Defenses, Abilities, and Loot can combo together! Found that awesome lightning sword? Use it with your geyser traps to stun enemies. Use traps built into the environment to combo with your towers or assist in taking out The Old Ones’ hordes.

New Item Enhancement System - Make your armor and weapons more powerful by fusing them with each other!

A Whole New Enemy Lineup - All new enemies make you strategize even more. Facing Javelin Throwers? Use or Auras and Traps or upgrade your Towers early for that extra range. Witherbeasts? Take them out with your heroes before they burrow and weaken your defenses. Found a unique Special Enemy? We’ll let you figure that one out yourself.

Plus a whole lot more! These are just the tip of the iceberg. A new Hero Deck system lets you bring up to three heroes into battle. The Quick Ping system lets you help other players with hotkeys. A new bag system lets you sort and organize your inventory. The Temporary Item Box makes sure you never lose a piece of loot. Public and Private Taverns let you choose to play with the whole community or just your Steam friends! Sub-objectives let you choose to spread out your Defenses or turtle and fight more enemies.
