As asked by Anon: “Dorian :D do you know of any Destiel coffee shop AUs? Or something similar”

Why sure I do nonnie! I’m in the middle of getting together my next hs/college AU list and a nice little domestic list but I can rec a few for you >_<
Updated 22/05/14

A Tale Of Survival: Terrible Life!AU. After years of not caring about him Dean finds himself obsessed with the wounded Marine that is a regular athis regular coffee shop. An awkward act of kindness leads to a strange friendship between the two men.

And When You Poured Us Together It Was Something: After stopping the Apocalypse, Sam and Dean run a coffee shop. Castiel and Ruby help. (Uriel can come too.) Went AU mid-season 4.

One Day at a Time: Castiel finally goes to the new cafe in town as December gets on it’s way. He starts to frequent it, and he and his brother get cozy with the owners’ sons.

My Usual:The barista’s back is turned - probably cleaning the machines, Dean thinks - and he slouches against the lacquered wood, clearing his throat. He bites back a chuckle when the barista jumps, spinning on his heel, and Dean finds himself looking up into what he thinks are the bluest eyes he’s ever seen and god help him, he’s drowning in the vast fucking ocean of them.

Blessed by Loving Gods: Dean was seventeen, Castiel was nineteen. That was technically illegal, but he tried not to think about that.

Buzzing Neon Lights: After running away from his deeply religious family, Castiel tries to assimilate into the youthful culture of cool and by random happenstances he meets the epitome of dominant masculinity, Dean Winchester. Sometimes, in the cruel normal world, strangers were nice.

The Bookshop: Life’s great, and then the Novaks come to town. A whimsical AU based on the song “Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop” by Landon Pigg. Dean/Castiel & Sam/Jessica, plus the entire cast of SPN.

Head For The Exits: Dean’s life in the Edge City PD is going swimmingly: There’s a masked vigilante prowling his rooftops and nursing a crush on him; a serial murderer who’s too damn smart for his own good; his partner is so new she still smells like polish, and he can’t quite work up the nerve to ask out the coffee guy across the road.

Christmas, Coffee and Kisses: Castiel Novak is painfully oblivious to every Christmas tradition, but he’s even more oblivious of the effect he’s having on Starbucks’ latest customer.

Force of Attraction :Sam goes speed dating, Dean goes along for a laugh, which is where he meets Castiel.

Sleeping With The Enemy: Cas is trapped living in a bad relationship with Sam. Then he meets the coffee shop guy. (warning evil!notbrothersam)

Come Back To Me: Angels and humans live side-by-side, but not in harmony. Dean and Castiel were childhood friends, but their cultures tore them apart. Now, 18 years later, Cas returns to Lawrence, only to find that Dean doesn’t remember him…

I Like You (Like Me): Dean’s the owner of his own pretty successful coffee shop, and he’s absolutely, totally not in love with the hot accountant guy who comes in every day. He’s way out of his league. Isn’t he?

Sugar Me Sweet: Dean hates Starbucks. Luckily, the Saint’s Café is both delicious and reasonably priced. Even if the cashier is super weird and stares at him, like, all the freakin’ time.

White Winter Hymnal: Writer!Dean walks into a café late at night on Christmas Eve, looking for inspiration for his next novel. Instead he finds librarian!Cas.

Caffeine Is Addictive: for AU Prompt #41: “Barista!Dean (imagine him scowling at his costumers and yelling ‘GRANDE SKINNY CHAI LATTE NO FOAM WITH SOY!!’) and Corporate Lawyer! Cas

Champagne: Dean likes the coffee at the cafe on Main. He also likes the owner.

A French Holiday: When D. Smith aka Dean Winchester, successful author and heavy smoker, had booked his recreational holiday to Le Havre, France, he hadn’t expected to meet the love of his life in a small café at the ocean. But apart from overcoming the language difficulties there is the certainty of Dean leaving in three months, that’s breaking Castiel’s heart…(favourite. quite close to my favourite AU of all time also)

Free to be You and Me: Coffee Shop!AU and University!AU rolled into one. Castiel Novak is the introverted English Literature major at the University of Kansas. Dean Winchester is the elusive cool guy who happens to work in Castiel’s favourite coffee shop. This is how they meet, and this is how Anna and Crowley play cupid.

You’re the Closest to Heaven that I’ll Ever Be: Undergrad Dean Winchester is feeling pretty comfortable with his life. He’s in his last semester of college, is starting to fill out grad school applications, and has a comfortable enough job at the campus coffee shop. He’s not looking to date anyone, but when an eccentric guy in a trenchcoat comes into the shop during Dean’s shift one day, he suddenly finds himself oddly distracted.

Heavenly Brew: Coffee Shop AU: Gabe and Cas get to know a few of their regular customers when a nearby bank is robbed and they are being held hostage when the criminals duck into the shop to hide out. Bonus if someone’s shot.

An Exercise In Worthless: “I mean, you’re–” He gestures at Cas, in his neat oxford shirt and nice pants. “–and I’m a high school dropout who tattoos for a living.” Wherein Dean makes a hefty living as a tattoo artist who owns the space next to Gabriel’s cafe. Sam attends the local university. When Gabe’s cousin comes to live with him while starting grad school at Sam’s university, Dean thinks for sure that all his negative karma’s coming to bite him in the ass because Cas clearly has a thing for Sam. No one would ever choose him over Sam. That’s just logic.

I Say, But I Mean: Dean runs a bed & breakfast. Cas works in a coffeeshop.

Easy Now, With My Heart: Dean Winchester is a kindergarten teacher. Castiel Milton is a writer slash works-in-a-coffee-shop. He also happens to be the extremely hot one-night stand that Dean never intended to see again other than in his own fantasies (he’s classy like that). But suddenly Cas is everywhere and Dean is convinced that Fate is out to get him. And maybe they do this thing backwards, but that doesn’t have to mean they can’t make it in the end, right?

of inverted crosses: Starbucks goes on strike and Dean needs caffeine. There’s a little cafe nearby. Pastel-goth!Castiel, office-worker!Dean.

Emotionally Stunted: Dean doesn’t like to think about it. Cas doesn’t know about it.

Fly for Me, Then We’ll Talk: He stopped at one and smiled, “this one me?” he asked. The picture he had opened to was in fact, him. More specifically, it was a close up of the counter and Dean leaning over it. Castiel chose to sketch out this one because he wanted to forever remember how Dean’s tongue rested on his teeth when he smiled. It wasn’t too noticeable, it was just something Castiel couldn’t help but see at such a close distance.

A Slice of Pie for Someone Who Caught Your Eye: “Can I get you guys anything else? Cookies, straws, extra sugar… a phone number?”

Belated: Castiel doesn’t really care for ringing in the New Year. After all, he still has to come into work at the coffee shop. Luckily, one Dean Winchester, who happens to be a fairly frequent regular there, might help in changing his opinion.

Rainy Day: On a rainy morning, Dean Winchester takes shelter in a small coffee shop. The rest is history.

Pumpkin and the Evergreen: Outside, it smells of frost, but inside the shop, there’s nothing but the warm scent of coffee, chocolate and caramel. Each winter day is slow and snowless, until one dark-haired man brings the frost inside.

Come In From The Cold: When Castiel Angelios moves to town to eventually fill his brother’s old position in the family business, he never expected to be enlisted in an increasingly antagonistic prank war between his family and another. Nor did he expect to meet someone like Dean Winchester, the charming and beautiful owner of the cafe across the street. But while Castiel attempts to navigate the line between loyalty to his family, and strengthening this fledgeling friendship, he discovers that both sides are using illegal magics to get ahead, jeopardizing everything that Castiel has built for himself.

Morning Coffees: In the end, everyone just needs a reason to get up in the morning.

Angel Coffee: “There was nothing out of the ordinary to make Dean think today would be any different. But it would. And it all started when Dean’s eyes were met by the impossibly blue ones of the man at the other side of the counter.”

The Bullring; Dean hates morning lectures. Castiel hates morning shifts. Luckily, The Bullring provides good food and good company, and who could ask for more?

Annoying Neighbours And Blue-eyed Strangers: A new neighbor has just moved into the apartment next door and he’s annoying as hell but Dean’s too busy thinking about the amazing guy he keeps meeting in his coffee shop to care.

Circling the City: Dean and Castiel met a year ago in Cas’ coffee shop. It was fire and heat and something else neither of them were ready to put a name too. Now Dean is back in town and looking to see if the spark is still there.

bomb in a birdcage: The coffee shop AU where Sam owns the shop below Cas’s office, Dean is a dick, and Cas likes half-caf lattes.

The Jagged Edge: Alternative Reality, non-supernatural. After a dishonorable discharge from the military, Casey Milton starts a new life as a coffee-shop owner in a small town in rural California. He quickly develops a crush on Dean, photography teacher at the local High School and one of his regulars. A few pictures of the shop for a leaflet kick off an avalanche when Dean’s jealous and controlling boyfriend interprets an affair into them.

One Day at a Time: Castiel finally goes to the new cafe in town as December gets on it’s way. He starts to frequent it, and he and his brother get cozy with the owners’ sons.
