Lake’s CX331 offers the first internal carbon fibre Thermaform heel counter and is Lake’s second custom fit model. Just like the CX401 you can heat it in a standard oven and manually shape it around your heel for the ultimate fit. It features the Boa dial closure with power zone in the forefoot and kangaroo leather, which is lighter, stronger and more durable than standard leather. This model retails at £249.99, sitting below the CX401, and a MTB version is available with the 100 per cent carbon fibre sole and mountain race rubber, with mud studs.
The CX160 is Lake’s new entry-level shoe retailing at a wallet-friendly £74.99. This model carries Triple hook and loop strap closure with competition fibreglass-injected nylon outsoles and a breathable, form fitting Action leather. Action leather is treated with surface treatment to reduce stretch and increase water resistance. The MTB version (MX160) retails at the same price and has the same upper with a lake race sole and non-marking rubber outer sole.
The £89.99 TX212 triathlon shoe is lighter, more breathable and faster drying than Lake’s previous models. The dual hook and loop straps make transitions easy and fast.

Gaerne is Hotlines’ answer to satisfying the increasing demand for performance cycling shoes, whether the customer be a tourer in need of comfort, or a road cyclist striving to shave seconds where possible.
With the touring customer in mind, Gaerne’s £79.99 Lapo is designed for those spending all day in the saddle. Developed with the makers Vibram, this shoe’s outsole grips when clipped or unclipped.
Offering laterally reinforced lugs for traction and stability and a removable patch covering the binding system the Lapo is robust enough to withstand heavy use. Furthermore, this shoe’s uppers are crafted from natural Nabuk and mesh with reinforcement in key areas. On the rear the label has inserted a reflective safety strip. Inside you’ll find a microfiber lining.
Gaerne’s flagship road shoe is the 275-gram Chronos, retailing for £299.99 and said to be the ‘lightest’ shoes available in the cycling business. An ultra thin carbon sole positions the foot just a few millimeters from the pedal, allowing maximum power transfer without loss of energy. Two channels positioned in the sole ensure plenty of ventilation to the foot during use. Non-slip rubber inserts in the front and back of the sole provide security while walking. The rear insert is replaceable and the shoe is compatible with all clipless pedals.
Hotlines also supply a number of Sombrio shoes designed largely for freeriding and built with extra tacky tread that’ll stick to the pedals in all conditions.

I-ride
The strength of Northwave’s winter boots line continues to progess during 2013 and the Artic version of their best-selling Celsius boots is available now. This boot is built with Gore Tex, combined with the brand’s special Panda Extreme thermal membrane to offer protection down to temperatures as low as -35C!
There has been more innovation on the Speedplay compatibility front with Northwave’s proprietary sole design, that allows weight savings and easy fitment for both Speedplay and normal three-hole cleats, now trickling down from the £275 Extreme models to the mid-range Typhoons, which start at £139.99.
The Mission has been a favorite of commuters for several years and the 2013 version still revolves around a Vibram sole and now has large reflex areas, hi-vis highlights and included in the price is a waterproof and packable shoe cover, all for only £89.99.

Mavic
New for 2013, Mavic expands upon its early success in the footwear market with the Zxellium Maxi, a wider volume version of the race-winning Zxellium. Offering great energy transfer, thanks to the Energy Full Carbon outsole, combined with the Ergo Lite Upper, this lightweight £240 model tips the scales at just 310 grams.
On the mountain bike side, Mavic’s Scree, available in sizes 5.5 through 13, is fully waterproof, thanks to a Gore Tex construction. The mid ankle shoe is robust and offers plenty of protection for the rider’s foot, as well as superb grip when unclipped.
Mavic UK now has two additional reps – Paul Foreman and Matt Chester – working in the North and South of England with the existing sales managers – Mark Stanley and Sean Dines.

Teva
With riders like Sam Pilgrim on its books, Teva needed a shoe to survive travelling to the harshest terrains and ripping down mountains – that’s where the revamped Links shoe came from.
Just by looking at it you can tell the £89.99 shoe is made of tough stuff. Using the same highly rated PedalLinks outsole as on the prior model, the shoe has been beefed up with waterproof upper materials, a shock pad in the heel to take those big hits and a breathable rubberised grid over the toe area that’s said to be highly tear resistant.
Those are just a few of the highlights though, as you may not notice attention to detail features such as a minimalistic design on the crank side of the shoe to avoid catching, while the padding around the ankle more than protects the rider should they take a knock. A tough plastic is wrapped around the heel to firm up the rear and provide further protection. Sound like it’ll be uncomfortable? Well, Teva has imported its Mush Infused Insole into the shoe to bring about the same level of comfort as found on its flip flops.

Bob Elliot
Due into stock in Spring 2013, FLR Shoes will be found with Bob Elliot. The sister company to Funkier Clothing will produce a range of road and MTB shoes ranging from £60 through £160 at retail. Each is said to have been developed alongside professional riders on the road and mountain bike circuits.
Though details are thin on the ground at present, we do know that the firm has been working with kangaroo leather for the uppers on some models, offers a Vibram sole on its freeride models and will be offering a custom fit EVA footbed with models.

Madison
Shimano has just launched its new R320 road shoe along with a new sole platform – Dynalast – designed to help overcome the dead-spot found when pedaling. Dynalast soles can also be found on models including the R170, R107, R088, and R078.
Aside from the sole, Shimano has also concentrated on its custom fit programme. As ever, its top-end shoe has fully heat-mouldable insoles. However, these now benefit from the addition of an insole that now offers an adjustable arch system to bring the perfect fit. The shoes also benefit from offering wider cleat adjustment, allowing the rider to achieve their optimal setup. A pair of R320 shoes retail for £299.99 and are targeted squarely at the rider who is seeking a precise and efficient performance road shoe.

Zyro
Though not a supplier of footwear, Zyro is the go-to source for overshoes and socks with both Altura and Exteondo producing covers for your customer’s footwear.
As ‘top end’ as shoe covers come, Exteondo’s £69.99 Brea overshoes are designed for the coldest of conditions. The Windstopper fabric impedes wind and cold from entering. The sole also has Windstopper technology for total protection. The combined zipper and velcro closure on the heel gives the boot perfect adjustability. There are also reflective details on the zippers.
From Altura and more affordable to the masses, Zyro carries a line of overshoes, beginning with the Nevis at £19.99, spanning £24.99 for the Etape and £29.99 for the Ergofit. Each is available in small (5-7) through X large (11-13).
The Ergofit has a low profile construction, carries reflective trim, has rear zip closure and the stretchy fabric is waterproofed via a PU coating.

Fisher
Founded by former Scott trials rider Sabio Rattazzi and his wife, DZR of San Francisco has found a home in the UK with Fisher Outdoors.
Designed to not be out of place when off the bike, each shoe is SPD compatible and is based around a ‘Variable Flex Shank midsole, which gives the shoes a unique stiffness while pedalling and flexability while walking.
Give the shoes a closer look and you’ll see a chain link pattern tread on the base of Task Series models, while the uppers carry a robust ‘power strap’.
Cycling-specific tailored features include an elastic lace catcher and a base made from natural gum rubber, providing firm grip. Vegan specific shoes are also included in the line. Prices begin at £79.99 retail for the ‘Jetlag’ low cut shoe and top out at £119.99 for the tan coloured Dice shoes.

Silverfish
As suppliers of Spiuk, Silverfish is able to supply retail with a comprehensive line of 15 shoes – a nod to the Spanish firm’s 15 years
in business.
New for 2013, retailers serving a high volume of road going customers should take a look at the ‘15R’, available in sizes 37 through 49 and in black, white and red. The 15R is a new design with heat mouldable uppers, breathable panels and a strap and cable/disc closure system. Stiff and responsive, the polyamide and glass fibre construction has reinforcement at the toe and heels. At retail, the shoe will cost £119.99.
There is, of course, a mountain going counterpart, the ‘15M’, available in sizes 37 through 47 in white or black. Again, the uppers are heat mouldable to the contours of the rider’s feet.
