If you want to learn more about successful marketing on the Internet, you’re going to love what we have for you today.

Below, you’ll find our personal reading and listening list of SEO and digital marketing resources, all highly recommended and very popular in the Internet Marketing Industry. These are the very same resources we use to stay on top of the SEO Industry, and they make a great starting point for any budding digital marketer.

Moz (formerly known as SEOmoz)

(http://seomoz.org/) – This is your bread-and-butter SEO blog. If it’s important for you to stay in Google’s good graces (and it should be), then this is the premier source of White Hat SEO tactics. Rand Fishkin, the owner, also puts out an excellent podcast called ‘White Board Friday’ where each week he goes into great detail on a search-related subject. We never miss a post from SEOmoz, which was recently shortened to just, “Moz”.

Copyblogger

(http://copyblogger.com/) – Want to see successful content marketing in action? Brian Clark used it to build a $1M per year software company, so he knows his stuff. This is the blog that set the current content marketing trend in motion, and it’s highly recommended for anyone who wants more out of their online presence.

Seth Godin

(http://sethgodin.typepad.com/) – As the founder of platforms like Yoyodyne and Squidoo, in addition to being a best-selling author, Seth Godin continues to be one of the most innovative minds in marketing. His blog is filled with actionable marketing gems presented in a concise and punchy format. His posts are usually pretty quick reads, so they make great coffee break material. Also, we suggest reading Purple Cow if you haven’t already. It’s superb and one of our favorites here at Big Red SEO.

Search Engine Watch

(http://searchenginewatch.com/) – This is probably the best source of SEO news on the web. If you want to keep up with the latest happenings in the Internet marketing industry, add this website to your Google Reader Feed. It’s how we, as an Omaha SEO Company, always stay in the loop.

Quicksprout

(http://quicksprout.com/) – Uber-successful entrepreneur Neil Pattel, creator of Crazy Egg and KissMetrics, uses Quicksprout as his personal sounding board for much more than just SEO. Although he’s certainly an Search Engine Optimization Expert. He is much like us here at Big Red SEO with his oft-meaty posts discuss everything from work ethic to investing. And of course, he has lots and lots of inspiring digital marketing advice to share.

Google Analytics Blog

(http://analytics.blogspot.com/) – We’ve already discussed why Google Analytics is our favorite tracking software. This is Google’s dedicated Analytics blog, and it has several useful guides on it that you should check out if you want more out of this powerful tool.

It’s also worth mentioning Matt Cutts’ personal blog here (http://www.mattcutts.com), since he’s the guy in charge of fighting web spam at Google. Matt Cutts’ blog is how we knew Google Penguin 2.0 rolled out on May 22, 2013, so it’s definitely worth paying attention to.

The Smart Passive Income Podcast

(http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/category/podcast/) – Pat Flynn is a great guy with a deep love for his family, and he also happens to make five-figures per month from his online business, at least if you believe his detailed monthly income reports. Skeptical or not, you’ll find his blog nothing but excellent, and his weekly podcast is even better. With rockstar guests like Tim Feriss and Neil Pattel (see above), Pat continues to produce pure gold on everything from networking, to productivity, to mobile marketing to entrepreneurship and more. Great listening on your way to work.
