Biggin Hill Airport Executive Handling has been ranked No 2 in the UK and No 5 in Europe and the Middle East for the level of customer service provided to their business aircraft customers.

The latest rankings are published in the February 2012 edition of the ‘European Business Air News’ (EBAN) publication following a qualitative survey among their 6,000 readers as owners and operators of turbine-powered business aircraft and helicopters.

The independent EBAN survey asked customers to assess the efficiency of the handling facility, the quality of service and the performance and attitude of ground staff at airports visited where customer service is provided by units generically known as Fixed Base Operators or FBO’s. The survey covered Europe and the Middle East, an area embracing 395 FBO’s providing a professional service to business aviation. There are three FBO’s at Biggin Hill Airport providing passenger facilities – Biggin Hill Airport, Jet Aviation and Rizonjet.

Robert Walters, Business Development Manager, says that the result of this survey represents a fine achievement by an experienced and professional team.

“Our Executive Handling team, led by Barry Sargeant, are thrilled by this recognition of their dedicated efforts to provide a high quality and personal FBO service. The high-ranking result in the EBAN 2012 survey is all the more encouraging as it exclusively reflects opinion directly from the customer” he said.

Biggin Hill has seen significant developments over the past 12 months with the opening of the new 50,000 sq ft hangar incorporating a range of serviced offices. Short or long term hangarage and parking has become available for all categories of business aircraft.

Airport Managing Director Jenny Munro says that she is very proud that the customer service team has been recognised in this way.

“I am well aware that members of our team go the extra mile for our customers and that this survey verifies that a good attitude and customer care are the key ingredients. Coming so quickly on the heels of the Airport Operators’ Association award of Best Business Aviation Airport 2010/2011, our product clearly appeals to our customers,” she says

Robert Walters says that with the Olympic Games now coming into sharp focus, there could not be a better time for Biggin Hill to win a worthwhile accolade as the 2nd highest rated FBO in the UK.

“It will give us the impetus to market the various strands of our FBO service to an increasingly global customer base. It also supports our aim to establish Biggin Hill Airport as the principal business aviation gateway for visitors to the Olympic Games” says Robert Walters.

“Importantly, we shall not forget that customers have a choice – a driving force in a service-related industry like ours” concluded Robert Walters.
