IRIGA CITY — A promising academic season awaits the UNEPians this year as Danielle Penelope C. Jebulan, newly elected University Student Government (USG) President vowed to push for more exciting events at the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) here.
“Most of the platforms we formulated are for the improvement of the services to the students like the Citizen Charter, bulletin board containing the services of USG and the institution. We will also launch the Unepians, Usap Tayo, a consultation event for the students that will serve as an avenue to air their complaints, suggestions and observations about the university,” Jebulan stated.
Jebulan will be joined by other newly elected USG officers: Vice President: Aggie Zephaniah R. Gonowon (Arts and Sciences); Secretary: Katherine Princess I. Vista (Arts and Sciences);
Treasurer: Ronald Rey S. Polvorosa (Engineering and Architecture) and Auditor: Betsy Madonna S. Casyao (Arts and Sciences).
Gonowon, re-elected as UNEP USG-Vice President said that she will fully support the new leadership and ensure that the interest of the majority will always prevail.
To back up the newly installed officers, USG Senators were also elected coming from different departments inside the campus: Ian Carl C. Argallon (Nursing and Midwifery), Jimcel B. Bata (Arts and Sciences), Romar Belen (Education), Maricar T. Sales (Business Education) and Patrik Yuland E. Yucamco (Tourism Hospitality Management).
Other senators who made it on the list include Lloyd Baita (Engineering and Architecture), Princess Lopez (Criminology) and Urli Brian Taduran (Criminology).
To complete the set of USG Officers, representatives were also elected, embodying the vision of their respective departments; Christine Sta. Ana (Nursing and Midwifery), Jenna Almira C. Villamer (Arts and Sciences), Princess Lontayao (Education), Rick Noa S. Sabordo (Tourism Hospitality Management), Christianna Erika M. Capalos (Engineering and Architecture), Janen Villamer Molina (Maritime) and Shane Arcilla (Criminology). ‘
Prior to the election, the platform of government of the contenders were tested and scrutinized through the conduct of a debate on July 7, followed by a Political rally on July 12. The election was conducted at UNEP Covered court on July 11.
Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda, UNEP President extended her warm congratulations to the team and commended the students for exercising their right to choose leaders who will best represent the rights of the studentry.
