The Sanitary Care Products Asia (SCPA), Inc. was established in October of 1996. It is a Filipino-owned Christian family-run company dedicated to raise the level of hygiene products available to the Philippine markets. With quality and innovation as key values in developing its products, SCPA was one of the first advocates of the use of more hygienic raw materials in its paper products that does not have harmful chemicals and bleaches.
Today, SCPA has seven branches and twenty-two offices in major parts of the Philippines designed to serve its clients, both in the retail and institutional sectors with ease. It also means that it can deliver fast and sure wherever their customers are. This includes the new warehouse and regional office which will cater to the Bicol area located at the SCPA Properties, Fausto Drive, Zone 2, San Felipe, Naga City. There will be a Dedication of the said new warehouse and office to be attended by the company owners and national office officers while celebrating its Christmas party on December 27, 2014.
What distinguished SCPA from other companies is its Mission and Vision. It was envisioned “to provide hygienic and good quality tissue products at the lowest cost possible.” By doing so, it was guided by the mission to become synonymous with quality and innovative products at reasonable prices and excellent service!

Definitely, you and I use paper tissues everyday. It may be in the dining room, bathroom, work place, etc. In fact like food, it can be considered as a basic commodity. For this reason, I and my better half are meticulous in our choice of the paper tissue when we shop. Other than the price consideration, we chose quality and safety hands down. After careful research, this is what I found out about the SCPA paper tissues and its product differences from other products especially those that were imported from China.
1. It is made from 100% virgin pulp. This is important because virgin fibers still have their inherent content of natural wet strength resins that help bind the fibers together. This higher resistance to moisture prevents linting on moist surfaces. Linting (himulmol) can cause all sorts of irritations and worse, allergies, or urinary tract infection.
2. It produces less dust and lint. The virgin pulp stock has long fibers that intertwine well to form well-bonded sheet. On the other hand, the process of recycling wastepaper causes damage to the fibers, producing shorter fibers that are easier to get picked out of the sheet. Just flick your forefinger on recycled tissue and see how much dust it releases. Compare this to SCPA products which produces very little dust.
3. The products are chlorine free. Elemental chlorine (such as chlorine gas, hypochlorite or Clorox) is a very effective and cost-efficient bleaching agent in manufacturing paper. However, SCPA do not patronize suppliers who use this in the process as elemental chlorine produces dioxins as a by-product. Dioxins have been linked to cancer and are very harmful to the environment.
4. The products do not have artificial whiteners. Artificial whiteners should not be allowed in paper that is in contact with human skin or with food products as these chemicals can migrate on the surfaces it touches. SCPA products do not contain this, that is why it is off-white in color.
5. The products have consistent winding and sealing. The sheet count is digitally controlled and is very accurate. Most competing brands have large cores to make their product look bulkier on the shelves. However, if you read the labels, their sheet count is the same. Even though it can control the looseness to whatever diameter it prefers, the products are wound tightly to make it look neat and clean.
