I will try and keep up here and share how we are studying the book of Job, so if you want to follow along make sure to subscribe in the sidebar so  you don’t miss any posts!

Today we began studying the book of Job. I am SO excited about this.We had an amazing Bible study time this morning. I love seeing God work through our lessons and we spent over 1.5 hours in the first chapter.

I started out by handing out new journals/notebook for each child. I instructed that these are to be used as Bible study notes, journals, or any of their thoughts they want to record. I explained how it is good to have a record of our studies to look back on someday and see how God worked SO this will be their summer record.

We began by using our Life Application Study Bible I read through the introduction to Job and the study notes. We also used this book that I ordered from Amazon, thanks to the recommendations of a reader!

The Remarkable Record of Job

We read through the study notes during the first chapter and had beautiful discussion. There is SO much to be learned in this book and I have no doubt God lead me to study this book for a reason. He is working on my heart in so many issues and I just love that they are right there in Job.

The major themes we touched on were:

God’s sovereignty. We talked about what this means and the kids wrote about it in their notes. (not to mention a good spelling word! ha!)

Prosperity doesn’t equal God’s favor. A huge lesson to be learned as so many out there teach prosperity is based on works or God’s favor.

Satan’s attacks. We talked ALOT about how God allows Satan to attack us, but it is never without His control. This was a deep discussion and one I am so glad we had.

We prayed as a family, especially over our next week as we head down to Virginia for HEAV- I will speaking and am so excited to share with other homeschooling families.

My new ebook was released today…be sure to grab it for $0.99 (reg. $3.99) TODAY and tomorrow only! (5/28 and 5/29)
